  Hi my name is Alan!
  
  I live in Same - Esmeraldas, Ecuador, and I work in sea turtle preservation. This beach is located in the North of the country, 6h away from Quito. It's 4kms long and has many palmtrees. My family has been living here for 55 years and has a lot of stories to tell. We're able to get by thanks to our pizzeria, where you can also learn how to make your favorite pizza and meet Carey, our amazing cat.
  I also have fishermen and farmers family members that could use some help.
  
  Our project started in 2020 during the pandemic, two siblings Pastor Rodrigues and Soledad Rodrigues decided to protect the turtles by raising awareness on the beach.
  In january , we created the instagram and facebook accounts to share more information to tourists visiting us.
  Every year we count with around 325 nests of 4 of the 5 turtle species present in Ecuador: Laud turtle (Dermochelys coriacea), Carey turtle( Eretmochelys imbricata), Green turtle ( Chelonia mydas), and Golfin turtle ( Lepidochelys olivácea).
  
  This makes us one of the most important preservation beach in the region.

  Hola ! Me llamo Alan.
  
  Vivo en Same - Esmeraldas - Ecuador y trabajo en la conservación de tortugas marinas y su ecosistema. Esta playa esta ubicada el norte del Ecuador a 6 horas de la capital Quito, cuenta con 4km de linea costera y muchas palmeras.
  Mi familia tiene 55 años en el lugar y tiene muchas historias para contar. Nos mantenemos económicamente con nuestra pizzería desde 1990 donde puedes aprender hacer tu pizza favorita y conocer una lindo gato Carey.
  Tengo familiares pescadores y agricultores que necesitan ayuda.
  
  El proyecto inicio en 2020 en tiempos de pandemia, dos hermanos Pastor Rodrigues y Soledad Rodrigues decidieron proteger las tortugas creando conciencia en la playa.
  En enero de 2021 creamos pagina de Instagram y Facebook para subir mas información para los turistas que visitan la playa pero normalmente son pocas semanas de vacaciones el resto del año es una playa solitaria para descansar.
  Tenemos alrededor de 325 nidos cada año y registramos 4 de 5 especies de tortugas del Ecuador : Tortuga laud (Dermochelys coriacea), tortuga carey ( Eretmochelys imbricata), tortuga verde ( Chelonia mydas), tortuga golfina ( Lepidochelys olivácea).
  
  Estos datos nos convierten en una de las playas mas importantes de conservación a nivel regional.

  Aide

  The missions depend on the frequency of the turtles nests
  
  -Help protecting nests, and with the baby turtles
  -Build and fix the nests protections on the beach
  -Patrol on the beach at the beginning and the end of the day
  -Clean the beach and the river
  -Create or design art for murals, or take pictures or graphic design (flyers, insta and fb posts)
  -Teach languages (english, french etc.)

  Las actividades varían dependiendo la frecuencia a de los nidos de tortuga
  
  - Ayuda en la protección de nidos de tortugas, y asistencia de los nacimientos.
  - Construir y mejorar protecciones de nidos por la playa.
  - Patrullar en la playa al inicio y al final del día.
  - Limpiar la playa y el rio.
  - Crear o deseñar arte con murales o hacer fotografías o graphic design (flyers, posts insta o Facebook).
  - Enseñar idiomas (ingles, francés etc.).

  Hébergement

  We offer a private room and bathroom on the first floor. We also have a space available for campers.
  There's a shared space to cook next to the beach.
  This space needs to be renovated, but with the very little income that we have at the moment, you could also help with ideas and initiatives to make this place better.
  
  They have the option of sharing the three meals with us but depending on the number of volunteers, more than 3 people would need to share minimum expenses.

  Al primero piso, tenemos un lugar cubierto privado con una habitación (cama individual y baños privado).
  Y tenemos espacio donde puedes dormir en tu propria carpa.
  Hay espacio para cocinar comunal a 40 pasos de la playa.
  Este espacio necesita renovación, no tenemos dinero por el momento y tu puedes ayudar también con iniciativas para mejorar el lugar.
  
  Tienen la opción de compartir las tres comidas con nosotros pero dependiendo la cantidad de voluntarios mas de 3 personas tenemos que compartir gastos mínimos.
