Hello Workawayers, I am Arthur and my wife is Alice. We run a nice 22-room guesthouse 10 minutes from the international airport in Entebbe Uganda.

We hope you can join our friendly team and experience the peacefulness of this place and the awesome landscapes. We have 15 local staff of which 6 are women.

The desired requirements are: that you speak English, are over 20 years and stay with us for 1-2 months minimum as volunteers supporting our little guesthouse gem.

We are ok with a solo volunteer or a couple. Workaway should come with their working updated laptop. We have a long-lasting friend from the Dominican Republic who will work with you and guide you with what is needed. She's on our profile photo and a great person to work with. You can also count on her to introduce you to her network and exploration of Uganda as she does tourism.

Sharing cultures allows us to become open and tolerant too new things. So, we see the benefits of cultural exchange as it provides opportunities to know other cultures which opens our eyes to different viewpoints and makes us empathetic toward people from other traditions. A great place to bond is during our bonfires and while working directly with staff.
Aide
(1) Social Media Marketing: Help us with our social media platforms including engaging with the comments section, posting, resharing, etc. We need someone to help us organize our online presence with new updates.

(2) Training and developing new systems: We'd love your feedback and support on implementing new systems where you see we need help. This could include creating template forms, training our staff on best practices, new procedures, etc. as we aim to be more sustainable.

We'd love to share our local language with you if that interests you. Of course is rich with local languages. Between our staff, there are approx. 7 different local languages.
Hébergement
You'll be staying and sleeping in one of our comfy self-contained rooms within the guesthouse or our home which has a housekeeper available all day. The room in the guesthouse is self-contained with its full bathroom, a table and chair, a mosquito net, and fresh bedsheets as needed. Your accommodation comes with laundry service as well. And sometimes since we move around we can provide transportation to some areas like Kampala, as we travel there plenty of times in a week. We also provide 3 meals a day both local and continental. You can also buy your own desired food and our housekeeper can cook it for you.

The guesthouse is within walking distance of Entebbe town where all amenities are available. Entebbe town has banks, supermarkets, shopping malls, and all services you can get in any modern city.

We welcome digital nomads and cater to them by providing wifi in all areas.

You can come along with your very friendly and non-threatening pet. If you stay at the hotel, we don't allow but nearby is our home which is also a small guesthouse in which we have guard dogs released in the evening. You can stay at this facility with your pet. If your pet is quite and disciplined we may consider it stay at the main guesthouse.
