  Description

  Our family, Alvarez Alday, comes from one of the original aymara families of the town of Huasquiña, region of tarapaca in atamaca desert, the Perea Rios. The grandparents were Don Antolin Perea and Porfiria Rios. They had 12 children of which there is a long list of descendants of this family.
  
  Hector Álvarez, along with his brother and cousins, grew up as a child in the town, going through endless experiences in his childhood and youth. Along with Anne Alday and children, they continued to visit the town and learn about the Huasquiña culture.
  
  From the grandparents, the culture of work, care and respect for the people, along with their customs, celebrations and the community, was passed on to the whole family.
  
  We are a family that aims to:
  
  "Rediscover the routes of our ancestors, paying homage to the native peoples of the Tarapacá region for their sacrifice in the conquest of the desert."
  
  We have a farm in terrace format, from which we produce alfalfa, fruits and vegetables. In addition to having animals such as goats, cows, chickens, ducks and horses. With the horses we carry out tours for tourists on ancestral routes
  
  
  Our team has two managers; plus 3 operation people.

  Nuestra familia, Álvarez Alday, proviene de una de las familias aymaras originarias del pueblo de Huasquiña, los Perea Ríos. Pueblo ubicado en la región de Tarapacá en pleno desierto de Atacama. Los abuelos fueron don Antolín Perea y Porfiria Ríos. Tuvieron 12 hijos de los cuales existe una larga lista de descendientes de esta familia.
  
  Héctor Álvarez, junto a su hermano y primos, creció desde niño en el pueblo, pasando por un sinfín de experiencias en su niñez y juventud. Junto con Anne Alday y los niños, continuaron visitando el pueblo y aprendiendo sobre la cultura Huasquiña.
  
  De los abuelos se transmitió a toda la familia la cultura del trabajo, el cuidado y el respeto por el pueblo, sus costumbres, sus celebraciones y la comunidad.
  
  Somos una familia que tiene como objetivo:
  
  “Redescubrir las rutas de nuestros antepasados, rindiendo homenaje a los pueblos originarios de la región de Tarapacá por su sacrificio en la conquista del desierto”.
  
  Disponemos de una finca en formato terraza, de la que producimos alfalfa, frutas y hortalizas. Además de tener animales como cabras, vacas, gallinas, patos y caballos. Con los caballos realizamos recorridos para turistas por rutas ancestrales
  
  Nuestro Equipo de trabajo cuenta con dos encargados; más 3 personas de operación.
  Durante los fin de semana concurren los guias de turismo que ayudan en las cabalgatas

  Volunteers will be able to learn from our family business the traditions of our town. The cultural exchange will be lived daily and they will see how people overcome the Atacama desert day by day.
  
  They will be able to learn Anne Alday's recipes, quince jams, tea, calapurka, roasts, etc.
  From Hector Alvarez you will be able to learn the field tasks and the teachings of life.
  From the town you will be able to walk through its streets and its hills. And marvel at the nights of the starry sky

  Los voluntarios podrán conocer de la mano de nuestra empresa familiar las tradiciones de nuestro pueblo. El intercambio cultural se vivirá a diario y verán cómo la gente supera día a día el desierto de Atacama.

  De Héctor Álvarez podrás aprender el trabajo de campo y las enseñanzas de la vida.

  We have a hostel, where we have exclusive rooms for volunteers with a shared bathroom for this sector
  
  Rooms are shared with other volunteers. Exclusive bathroom for these rooms.
  
  There is public transportation on Mondays and Thursdays that leaves from Iquique. This must be arranged in advance
  
  Food will be provided by the person in charge as a community lunch. There may be days when you will have to cook, previously we will deliver the supplies.

  Contamos con un hostel, donde tenemos habitaciones exclusivas para voluntarios con baño compartido para este sector
  
  Las habitaciones son compartidas con otros voluntarios. Baño exclusivos para estas habitaciones. Hay transporte publico los días lunes y jueves que sale desde iquique. Esto se debe coordinar previamente.
  
  La alimentación será proporcionará la encargada como almuerzo comunitario. Podrán existir días en que se tendrá que cocinar, previamente entregaremos los insumos.
