  Description

  Hello, my name is Queco, I am from Barcelona, ​​Catalonia, Spain. I come from the world of graphic and interior design. I have also worked with art and architecture, two passions that are still closely linked to me.
  For about 5 years I decided to leave behind all my part of computers, offices, bosses etc and dedicate myself entirely to the reform of a modernist factory from the beginning of the 20th century, located 5 km from the center of Barcelona. The place has a lot of charm since it has very wide spaces, large windows and very unique environments. My job is to give life to a place "dead" and abandoned for years, in spaces with life and energy for homes. For this we have had to use ourselves to the maximum and learn all kinds of trades required for this long transformation. I have gone through many phases, from devising and designing the spaces to getting physically involved with the cement, plumbing, drains, painting, etc. etc. a lot of tasks that have been and are necessary for this project.

  Hola, mi nombre es Queco, soy de Barcelona, Cataluña España. vengo del mundo del diseño grafico e interiores. También he trabajado con el arte y la arquitectura, dos pasiones que siguen muy vinculadas a mi.
  Desde hace unos 5 años decidí dejar atrás todo mi parte de ordenadores, oficinas, jefes etc y dedicarme enteramente a la reforma de una fabrica modernista de principios del siglo XX, situada a 5 km del centro de Barcelona. El lugar tiene mucho encanto ya que cuenta con unos espacios muy amplios, grandes ventanas y ambientes muy singulares. Mi labor es dar vida a un lugar “muerto” y abandonado desde hace años, en espacios con vida y energía para viviendas. Para ello nos hemos tenido que emplear al máximo y aprender todo tipo de oficios requeridos para esta larga transformación. He pasado muchísimas fases, desde idear y diseñar los espacios hasta involucrarse fisicamente con el cemento, la fontanería, desagües, pintura, etc etc un montón de tareas que has sido y son necesarias para este proyecto.

  Since the beginning, the collaboration with WORKAWAY has been very present throughout all this time, from many countries volunteers have come with the best attitudes of knowing, learning and exchanging.
  I have been able to share my years of experience in design and architecture with all the people who have come here.
  This factory is a meeting place, coexistence, exchange and learning where we continue to build spaces and emotions.
  I have seen that the capacity for innovation grows with plurality with those who share it, I am still open to share my knowledge and this unique project in order to create and build.
  
  Desde el inicios la colaboración con WORKAWAY ha estado muy presente a lo largo de todo este tiempo, desde muchísimos países han venido voluntarios con las mejores actitudes de conocer, aprender e intercambiar.
  Mis años de experiencia en diseño y arquitectura los he podido intercambiar con todo la gente que ha venido aquí.
  Esta fabrica es un lugar de reunión, convivencia, intercambio y aprendizaje donde seguimos construyendo espacios y emociones.
  He visto que la capacidad de innovacion crece con pluralidad con los que lo compartes, sigo abierto a compartir mis conocimientos y este sigular proyecto para poder crear y construir.

  The idea of WORKAWAY is to exchange accommodation and basic food in exchange for help with the RESTORATION OF THE HOUSE. At the moment the tasks are of all kinds, from preparing cement, throwing away construction garbage, cleaning and helping professionals. But I hope that soon a new project to make wooden furniture will begin. I have very little experience in carpentry so for September or maybe October I am LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH A LITTLE EXPERIENCE IN CARPENTRY, TO BE ABLE TO MAKE INDUSTRIAL FURNITURE FOR THE HOUSE. A very nice and creative project.

  La idea de WORKAWAY es hacer un intercambio de alojamiento y básicos de comida a cambio de ayuda con la RESTAURACIÓN DE LA VIVIENDA. Por el momento las tareas son de todo tipo, desde preparar cemento, tirar basura de construccion, limpiar y ayudar a profesionales. Pero yo espero que proximente comienze un nuevo proyecto de fabricacion de muebles en madera. Yo tengo muy poca experienceia en carpinteria así que para septiembre o quizá octubre si que BUSCO ALGUIEN CON UN POCO EXPERIENCIA EN CARPINTERÍA, PARA PODER FABRICAR MUEBLES INDUSTRIALES PARA LA CASA. Un proyecto muy bonito y creativo.
