Help out a French/Irish family with our sons in Ennis, Ireland

  Description

  We are now looking for a Workaway starting September or October.
  
  We are a french/Irish family living in Ennis in county Clare. We are between Galway and Limerick as well as 20 minutes away from the seaside. I am working as Sommelier and studying for a diploma so I usually am quite busy and working long hours. My partner is working in hospitality as well. Our eldest, Eliot 2 and a half, is a very active little boy who loves the outdoors. We had another son in May, Léonard, who is quite the opposite, very calm and quiet nature. We also have four cats but they don’t really live in the house.
  
  We love food and wine, I am delighted when we have vegetarian/vegan workawayers living at home as I am not too fond of meat. We enjoy hiking/long walks and visiting new places. We used to do woodwork but we unfortunately don’t have much time for it anymore, we generally are quite handy and there is always something we like to do around the house. Both my partner and myself have been living abroad so between the two of us, we speak French, English, Italian and Spanish. My partner likes to believe he speaks Gaelic but he doesn’t !!
  
  Our current goal is to buy a house so we are mindful about our spendings and we appreciate someone who is respectful when it comes to waste (food and energy wise).
  
  I did a Workaway when I first arrived in Ireland until I find a job and got settled and it was really a great experience. We have had several Workawayers in the past couple of years and they all brought so much to Eliot and our family. We try and be honest about ourselves and what might be challenging in our family during interviews, not to scare you away but to make sure things are going to work between us and I think that honesty is very important both ways.

  You would be welcome to participate in all aspects of our family life, from food shopping to going to Limerick market or the west coast with us. I’d be happy to drive you anywhere you might want to go in the county when I’m not working and you would be very close to the bus/train station if you’d like to travel on your own. We would be happy to help you progress in English and my partner would definitely be delighted to talk and share about the Irish culture. We are both open minded and would really love to learn ourselves about different culture.

  Aide

  Due to large volume of applications, please be mindful of the following before sending us a message :
  
  - We are looking for long term Workawayers (minimum 4 months, preferably 6 and more)
  - We are looking for someone with experience with babies and toddlers, it is ESSENTIAL
  - Workawayer work hours are systematically during the week-ends and it is a paid position with holidays
  - Should you not meet the above criteria, we might take a long time to reply as we receive a lot of applications
  
  We need someone to mind Eliot and Léonard, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 2-10PM while we are working and a couple of hours (flexible day and time) so I can go and exercise during the week. Your duties would be feeding, playing, changing nappies, do bath and bed time. We have a large garden and plenty of toys, crafts and we now allow a bit of TV for Eliot (who has become obsessed with the movie Cars) which is mostly used if Léonard is a bit needy. There is a nanny cam in the house, mostly for peace of mind as it is very difficult to leave a 4 months old to someone you don't know so you have to be comfortable with that (we don't care if you're picking your nose !!). The priority is tending to the needs of the children and their safety should be paramount at all times.
  
  We would also expect some help around the house within what we consider "normal" when house sharing with someone, cleaning after yourself and participating in house chores like emptying the dishwasher, cleaning the table after eating, cleaning the bathroom occasionally, helping with the shopping, etc. Life does get hectic at home and I am not very good at asking for help, it is a big plus if you have previous experience and if you feel you know how to give a hand in a busy household.

  Hébergement

  Double bedroom (see pic) and you would share the bathroom with the children. We live in a 3 bedroom house with a big enough garden in a residential area. There’s all the comfort needed, washing machine, dryer, fibre, Netflix, Amazon prime and so on. Feel free to ask any questions about where you’d be staying.

  We highly recommend to our Workawayers to pick an activity when they join our family. Yoga, music, irish sports, plenty is available around and it allows for meeting people and get out, especially at the beginning when it can be a bit intimidating. Please ask me and I will be happy to help in finding whatever you might be interested in.

  Restaurants, supermarkets, pubs and bus station within walking distance.
