Description
I work in the field of education. During the year I work in schools and kindergardens. During the summer I organize, along with two of my colleagues, the residential summer camp in the mountains for boys and girls aged seven to fourteen years.
This year it will last four weeks:

My project is a summer camp for children in the mountains. I look for young volunteers who enjoy working with children and have had at least one experience in this area.

We have a big house with rooms large and small. Not individual.
We have a large kitchen where we eat together.

The summer camp is surrounded by nature, in the mountains above the town of Como. Around there are other mountains, you can walk, explore, read books while lying in the grass. Not far away there are huts where people come and eat typical products. In forty minutes you can get to the valley where there is a small town. There is a train to Milan. The trip takes about an hour and a half.

That's an amazing Summer camp! It is not big at all, there are around 15 kids, so it is quite simple to look after them. Matteo and Lorenza are really warm-hearted, open-minded people and their camp and overall approach to children is very inspirational, focusing on freedom, trust and living in a community. Speaking Italian is probably helpful for working with the kids but even without it I felt accepted and appreciated throughout the week. Thank you!

I had an incredible week working with Matteo, Gabriella, and Lorenza at Camp Bravitutti. I don't speak a word of Italian, but that never stopped the staff or the kids from making me feel at home.
