    Description

Hello Workawayers! My name is Nick, and I’m the founder of a purpose-built fitness and wellness retreat on the beautiful island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. After years in business and fitness coaching, I wanted to create a space where people from around the world could reset their lifestyle, train in a supportive environment, and experience real transformation. This place is built on values of community, discipline, positivity, and living with purpose.

Our project brings together fitness, healthy food, sustainable living, and a warm, social atmosphere. We host guests from Europe, Australia, Singapore and beyond—people who come here to improve their health, meet like-minded travellers, and enjoy island life. We also focus on nutrition through our Pure Eats kitchen, which prepares balanced, healthy meals using local ingredients.

As a Workawayer, you become part of our team and part of our community. You’ll be working alongside friendly international staff in a supportive environment where everyone’s contribution matters. We treat volunteers with respect, clear communication, and appreciation. In return, we hope you bring your good energy, willingness to help, and an open heart.

If you enjoy fitness, wellness, healthy food, cultural exchange, and meaningful teamwork, you’ll feel right at home. Welcome to the family.

  • Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre

    Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre

Staying with us gives travellers the chance to experience everyday life in Vietnam beyond tourism. Volunteers spend time alongside a mixed international and local team, creating cultural exchange through shared routines, conversations, and community activities rather than structured programs.

    Travellers often learn about:

Vietnamese daily life, values, and work culture through direct interaction with local staff and neighbours

How an international wellness retreat operates in an island environment with limited resources

Practical communication and teamwork skills when working across different cultures and backgrounds

How community-focused projects are organised and maintained over time

Sustainability is a visible and practical part of daily life here. This place operates as Asia’s largest solar-powered fitness retreat, and volunteers see first-hand how renewable energy, waste reduction, water conservation, and responsible sourcing are applied in a real working environment. These are everyday practices rather than abstract ideas, and volunteers often take these habits with them when they move on.

Community outreach is also part of the exchange. From time to time, we support or help organise local charity initiatives. A recent example was a long-distance walk in Phu Quoc to raise funds for children with cancer. Volunteers who were present assisted with preparation, logistics, and community engagement, offering insight into how small, grassroots charity events are organised locally.

Overall, the exchange is informal and hands-on. Travellers leave with a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture, community-led initiatives, sustainable living in practice, and what it means to contribute to a shared project rather than simply visit as a guest.

  • Aide

    Aide

We welcome travellers who enjoy being part of an active, community-based environment. The help we ask for is varied and depends on each person’s skills, experience, and the time of year.

Most support is light to moderate and typically includes a mix of the following:

Assisting with daily upkeep of shared spaces such as training areas, gardens, and communal zones

Helping with simple operational tasks like setting up equipment, tidying after classes, or preparing spaces for group activities

Supporting reception or guest services during busy periods (greeting guests, basic admin, or check-ins)

Helping with content creation such as short videos, photos, or social media support (for volunteers with interest or experience)

Occasional help with events, workshops, or community activities held on site

Volunteers usually help up to 25 hours per week, spread across 5 days, with two full days off. Tasks are flexible and scheduled around training sessions and retreat operations, with plenty of downtime during the middle of the day.

We value reliability, a positive attitude, and respect for others more than specific qualifications. Volunteers are treated as part of the community rather than staff, and we aim to make the experience collaborative, balanced, and enjoyable for everyone involved.

  • Hébergement

    Hébergement

Workawayers stay in a private single room, either located on site or within 2–3 km of the retreat. Each room is clean, comfortable, and designed to give you your own personal space during your stay.

Rooms are furnished with a bed, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, basic essentials, and access to a bathroom with hot water. The accommodation is quiet and secure, making it a comfortable place to rest after helping out or spending time exploring the island.

Being close to the fitness retreat makes it easy to take part in daily activities, join classes when invited, and connect with guests and staff, while still having privacy and downtime when you need it.

Volunteers are provided with three meals on site everyday, and are welcome to eat together with staff or guests.

Overall, we aim to keep food arrangements fair, flexible, and transparent, while respecting the 25-hour work limit and two full days off per week. Our goal is to support helpers properly while maintaining a realistic and sustainable setup for everyone involved.

In their time off, helpers are free to enjoy island life in Phu Quoc at their own pace. The area offers easy access to beaches, local markets, cafés, nature spots, and quieter parts of the island, making it simple to relax or explore on rest days.

As part of the exchange, helpers are welcome to join daily fitness classes when invited, including HYROX-style training, HIIT, strength, mobility, and endurance sessions. No previous experience is required — participation is optional and based on interest and energy levels.

Scooters are the most common way to get around the island and are widely available nearby. Taxis and ride-hailing services are also easy to arrange, and staff can give basic advice on transport, safety, and places to visit. Depending on accommodation location, some helpers choose to walk or cycle locally.

Wi-Fi is reliable throughout the retreat, allowing helpers to stay connected, study, or work online during free time. There are quiet areas where people often read, stretch, or relax between activities.

Meals depend on the individual volunteer agreement and daily schedule. When meals are not provided, helpers are welcome to use the shared kitchen during appropriate hours, and we can recommend affordable local restaurants close to the retreat.

This place is a wellness-focused, non-smoking environment. Smoking is not permitted in shared or indoor spaces, but designated smoking areas are available.

Dress code is simple and practical. Clean, comfortable clothing is suitable. While helping or around guests, we ask that helpers avoid overly revealing outfits and dress respectfully.

We aim to maintain a calm, positive atmosphere. Loud parties, heavy drinking, or disruptive behaviour are not appropriate here. Open communication is important to us — if anything is unclear or if help is needed, our team is always available to talk things through. We value honesty, cooperation, and mutual respect.

    Possibilité d’accueillir les digital nomads

This fitness retreat is an excellent place for digital nomads or Workawayers who need time for their own online work. Our schedule is structured but flexible, with 4–5 hours of help per day, giving you plenty of time to focus on remote jobs, studies, or creative projects. We have strong, stable Wi-Fi and several quiet areas where you can work comfortably. Many of our guests are remote workers too, so the environment naturally supports productivity, focus, and healthy routines. A big bonus: This place is fully solar-powered with battery storage, which means no power cut issues. You can work with confidence knowing the electricity is stable—even during island outages. If you have meetings, deadlines, or specific work hours, simply communicate with us. We’re happy to adjust your volunteer shifts when possible to help you maintain a healthy balance between helping out, training, and managing your online work. This place is perfect for anyone wanting to combine wellness, remote work, island life, and community in one peaceful, inspiring space.
