Description
We are an NGO based in Hoi An, central Vietnam, and an extremely busy cat shelter.
We work continuously to improve the welfare of cats here in Hoi An and strive to increase the compassion towards animals, as well as educate the local community on the importance of de-sexing and immunising pets. We have also previously opened up our home as a Cat Cafe which has proven to be successful and is becoming an increasingly popular visitor attraction for tourists. The sole purpose of our cafe is to raise funds for the cats, in order to feed and maintain a secure lifestyle for them. Since Covid we have been closed but we are hoping to open again in the summer as the borders to Vietnam have re-opened.
Hoi An is UNESCO World Heritage site and a beautiful place to spend a month or two, as it is perfect to escape the hustle and bustle of the other cities in Vietnam. It is also well known for it's beaches and historic Old Town.
In addition to our workaway manager placements, we generally require other volunteers.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Hoi An is the perfect location for anyone. You have a beautiful beach, romantic old town and lots to see during the day. It is fairly quiet, and not for those wanting to party every night….although a party can usually be found at the weekend. It is perfect for hiring a bicycle and scooter and exploring the local areas - from the beach, to the Old Town to the rice paddies and smaller local islands.
Hoi An is also a food heaven for vegans and vegetarians, as there are a number of restaurants which cater well towards this diet.Aide

SHELTER MANAGER POSITION
We are continuously in search of confident, independent animal lovers to help us out with our various tasks throughout the day and help to manage the shelter.
Work involved includes the following:
Tasks daily include:
Cleaning shelter
Managing other volunteers
Helping with medications
Feeding and animal care
Working towards re-opening the cat cafe onsite
Garden work
Projects around town - TNR and outreach.
Admin - assistance with online/social media/projects and general paperwork.
Most of the work will require you to deal with animals on a day to day basis. We ask some background in animal care or rescue and do not mind working in hot conditions. The summers in Vietnam get very hot and humid.
The work is generally quite physical and some after hour work maybe needed.
We don't receive any government funds or support, we rely on feeding the cats and sheltering all the animals from kind donations and our own private jobs alone. Your help running the shelter and business will make a huge difference to the cats and future rescues.
We require 6 months minimum stay with us to ensure training can be effective and help us make a difference here.Langues parlées

Hébergement
With our workaway placements, we offer a basic private room in Hoi An for you onsite at the shelter. The room will be close to the sights of Hoi An, but riding a bicycle or motorbike would be needed.
