Description
**At the moment, we are urgently looking for someone who can come ASAP and stay until mid September.
We are only able to host female applicants.**
Hello!
We are a warm and open-minded family living in the beautiful city of Fukuoka, Japan. We are currently looking for a kind, responsible, and fun-loving au pair who is interested in Japan and excited to experience Japanese culture and daily life here.
I have always had a strong interest in international exchange. In the past, I backpacked around the world and worked as an international flight attendant. Now, as a mother of two, I would love to welcome someone from overseas into our home not just as a helper, but as a genuine member of our family.
We have a bright and curious 4-year-old daughter who loves playing, singing, and exploring new things. She would be so happy to have an “older sister” figure to spend time with—someone who enjoys playing with her, communicating in English, and supporting her growth and imagination through fun, natural daily interaction.
In December, we welcomed our second child, a baby boy. While both parents take primary responsibility for caring for the baby, having an au pair will allow us to give our daughter more attention and help keep her daily routine fun, stable, and engaging as she adjusts to having a new sibling.
We live in Fukuoka, a compact and lively city known for its amazing food, friendly people, and easy access to both the mountains and the sea. While it is smaller than Tokyo, it offers a very comfortable lifestyle and is a wonderful place to live and explore.
If you are open-hearted, enjoy spending time with children, and are excited about experiencing life in Japan, we would love to hear from you!

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
We'd be happy to introduce you to Japanese daily life, culture, food, and customs, and you'll always be welcome to join our family outings.
I have traveled extensively as a backpacker and previously worked as an international flight attendant, so cultural exchange has always been an important part of my life. We'd be happy to share Japanese language, home cooking, and everyday customs with you while helping you experience life beyond the typical tourist attractions.
We also hope to learn about your culture, traditions, language, and way of life. We believe that living together and sharing our daily lives will create meaningful memories for both our family and our au pair, while giving our daughter the opportunity to grow up with an international perspective.
If you're interested in learning Japanese, you'll find several volunteer-run Japanese language classes around the city. We'd be happy to help you find one that matches your interests, level, and schedule. -

Hébergement
Room:
You will have your own private room in our house.
Your room has an air conditioner, a bed, a desk, a shelf, and a hanger rack.
You'll share the bathroom, kitchen, and other common areas with our family.
*Like many houses in Japan, our home is built with wood, which means sound can travel easily. Because of this, it would be best if you are someone who can sleep comfortably even if you occasionally hear a baby crying or our daughter happily singing.
Meals:
On your working days, we will provide dinner, and we would love for you to join us at the table and enjoy a home-cooked Japanese meal together. Our dinners usually include meat or fish, so our home may not be the best fit for strict vegetarians or those with very limited dietary options.
We provide basic groceries such as bread, cereal, eggs, milk, pasta
You are welcome to prepare your own breakfast and lunch using these ingredients. -
Autres infos...
In your first message, please let us know your preferred duration of stay and your experience with childcare.
**During kindergarten long holidays, the bus service is not available, so we may ask you to pick up our daughter from kindergarten by bicycle. The kindergarten is about a 10-minute bike ride from our home. For this reason, we hope you feel comfortable riding a bicycle and carrying a child safely.**
To help our daughter improve her English skills, we kindly ask that you speak to her only in English, without using Japanese.
Our daughter is currently in the “toddler tantrum” stage, so there may be times when she becomes emotional or difficult. We’re looking for someone who can be patient, calm, and understanding during these moments.
We would also love for you to bring your own creativity into your time with her — whether through games, crafts, music, or storytelling. Your ideas and energy to inspire her imagination are very welcome! -
