  ONE WEEK ONLY June 30th - July 6th- Searching for enthusiastic cookery assistance in Loro Piceno, Le Marche, Italy
  
  we are finally getting a chance (post earthquake, post Covid, post lack of visitors to the region etc etc ) to offer another 'cook with us' experience in the beautiful town of Loro Piceno in Le Marche.
  We have a group of foodie enthusiasts arriving on 1st July 2023 and need a couple of FEMALE 'hands-on' helpers for the week. We need YOU to be available from June 30th to July 6th.

  My name is Lucy and together with my husband Mike, (we're an English couple who have been living in Loro Piceno for almost 8 years),
  
  Everybody needs to eat, and it is a joy and a challenge to look for new ways of creating recipes from delicious ingredients and freshly picked fruit and vegetables.
  
  Our event will be held in English but will focus on the culinary traditions of Italy and especially the local region of Le Marche. Once upon a time, the area was an important route to the capital city of Rome and the towns and villages of Le Marche rely on the surrounding fields, rivers and nearby sea for their food.
  
  We are offering you a chance to be part of the host team and can promise you some great food and local experiences in exchange for your work.
  
  You will need to be very hands-on with a cheerful 'can-do' attitude and must like meeting new people and getting involved. If you can speak some Italian, that would be fabulous!!!
  
  Have you ever heard the expression 'kitchen elf'? If not, I'll try and describe it here........a 'kitchen elf' is someone who makes things happen as if by magic! That dirty bowl that the guest has just set aside, the whisk they have just finished with.....the 'kitchen elf' will take it away before they have even noticed and wash it up and have it ready to use again in no time! If you don't mind some washing up and mopping the floor, you'll get a chance to taste and try some fabulous food as well! We want you as a 'kitchen elf' to help us!!! And if cooking is your thing, there will be a chance to do that too! Our approach is to run our lessons 'family style', so when we cook, it will be to create a meal that we will all sit down and share together. You will be part of that family.
  
  There's other stuff as well, there will be computer based admin to do - collating and printing out recipes for example, posting pics on social media and taking photos to record the event for the attendees. Routine tasks like making sure the aprons are washed and cleaned at the end of the day, helping with the shopping and the trips. And some house-keeping stuff like making up rooms, cleaning bathrooms and helping to serve breakfast.
  
  If you are a keen cook, or want to learn more - this will really suit you.. If you can drive, (and have an EU licence) that would be a fabulous bonus! If you don't mind being a 'jill of all trades' as well as a 'kitchen elf', then this could be perfect for you!!!! Guests will be coming to us expecting an authentic 'Le Marche' food and drink experience - we want you to help deliver that! It will be tiring, but we also promise it will be fun!
  
  You'll definitely learn about making Italian food - from seafood to pasta, from cakes and dough to local vegetables and delicacies. And there will be a chance to practice English, (which is the language we'll be working in) every day.
  
  We'll include you in the activities that our guests are doing - so you'll be able to come on trips and enjoy local restaurants as well as home cooking. There will be a chance to learn bread-making, pizza baking, a whole host of local recipes and time to relax and enjoy the local countryside too.
  
  Please note - we can't accommodate vegan or other dietary restricted help.....

  This exchange will allow you to live like a local in Le Marche and brush up Italian or English language skills. There will also be time to visit local places of interest like Roman Urbs Salvia, San Ginesio and Macerata.
  
  The area is rich in local history and there will be an opportunity to meet local business owners, shop at the market and develop DIY and gardening skills.

  If you are still reading this far down the page, then you may be the sort of person we're looking for!
  
  We live in the town of Loro Piceno, Macerata area, Le Marche. We're between the mountains and the sea - around 35/40 minutes from each.
  
  The biggest requirement is for someone with flexibility - if you want to, you can also learn about making Italian food - from seafood to pasta, from cakes and dough to local vegetables and delicacies. And there will be a chance to practice English, (which is the language we'll be working in) every day, so you do already need a pretty good level of English to interact.
  
  As well as that, we would like someone to take responsibility for our social media posts etc.....using words and pictures taken from our daily activities and using them to fill our Blog, Instagram and other social media pages.

  Neither of us are fluent Italian speakers yet, so if you're a native Italian speaker and interested in improving your English, we'd be very happy to dedicate some time to this.

  Hébergement

  Accommodation will be in a (potentially shared with one other person) private room in a B&B establishment, (WE WILL COVER THE COST). If you are not already travelling with a friend, please be aware that we're looking for 2 FEMALES to help out - hence the share arrangement.
  
  There is a shared bathroom.
  
  You will also have use of the living room and kitchen, (hopefully, the weather will be good enough to spend lots of time outside)!!!
  
  No smoking inside the house.

  Autres infos...

  Le Marche is a relatively undiscovered part of Italy. The location is rural, so if you have your own car, that is just perfect.
  
  If you fly to Italy, we can collect you from Ancona airport or you can catch a train to Civitanova Marche/Tolentino or Macerata - all of which are reasonably close - and where we will meet you at the station.
  
  On days off, it's a 30/40 minute drive to the beach or to the mountains and there are lots of outdoor activities like bicycling and walking to enjoy. Le Marche is full of medieval towns and villages and has a strong food and wine culture to explore.
