Description
Hi! I'm Giselle (35) – originally from Germany, now splitting my time between London and my summer house in Paltsi, South Pelion, Greece. I work remotely as a project manager, which allows me to spend extended periods in my little Greek retreat. I'm more of a city mouse by nature – organized, sporty, and I live a pretty busy lifestyle. But when I come to Paltsi, I try to reconnect with my inner hippie and embrace a slower, more grounded way of life.
I’ve had good experiences with helpers for the house and garden through platforms like this, and I’m open to new ideas. But first things first:
PLEASE READ, as this is important sorry:
❗Remote location – you'll need to arrange your own transport. I'm sometimes with a car and have a scooter (mostly in summer), but otherwise a vehicle is essential. Buses only go as far as Argalasti (14 km away, only place with supermarkets), and from there it's taxi or private ride only, but only to the beach of Paltsi, House is 1.5 km from there. Just seasonal tavernas and small hotels at the beach. If using my scooter, I'd appreciate help with the yearly registration. Alternatives: renting a car (expensive), bringing your own, or getting creative.
🙏 This is a very open and therefore quite intimate house – so please, no couples or men during the time I'm there (June 9 to mid-August in 2025).
🏡 When I’m not there, I’m open to all kinds of respectful guests – couples and men included. Just be kind, independent, and treat the place with care.
🌿 Lifestyle: It's quiet here – great if you enjoy nature, animals, reading, and slow living. Not ideal if you need nightlife or shopping, or people around you.
🧭 Social life: You'll definitely find connection if you’re open to it – there are lovely people around. But be aware: it can feel quite isolated, especially at the house itself.
☀️ Summer season: During summer, there's relatively more going on – especially at the beach. Quite a few Germans are living in the area too, so you're not completely off the map. Greeks are coming down at the weekend or during holidays.
🏗️ Planned renovation work on the ground floor outdoor terrace, electricity work, carpenter for shelves and stuff (timing uncertain) expected during April/May, but you never know, when things are actually getting done... will probably take up a few days each time.. I know more End of May hopefully.
Paltsi itself is a quiet, alternative spot with few summer houses and two taverns, some small hotels at the beach that attracts those seeking peaceful, natural surroundings and the simple life. It's perfect for slowing down – ideal for activities like yoga, everything beach, hiking, reading, meditation. The area has a small friendly community and nearby places like Milina offer some activities and restaurants.
I value respectful, friendly interactions and look forward to meeting people who'd enjoy experiencing this beautiful, somewhat remote corner of Greece!
✅ If you've read this far, please mention "Jasu Giselle" in your message with your ideal timeframe and preferred tasks. Before June 9th, the house is more "adventurous" (Starlink, water connection/converter setup) - you should be independent and comfortable with challenges. From June 9th when I'm there, I welcome any helping hands. End June-Mid July focuses on garden work. July/August is quieter, hotter with everyday activities. Please only reach out if you're prepared for these conditions, the remote location, and are clear about your timeframe!Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Experiencing authentic Greek village life and local customs. Engaging with the international community in the area. Learning about natural and simple living with basic amenities. Exploring the South Pelion region and its traditions. Cultural exchange with me (German living there and in London). You will be in a very remotey area, meaning everyhting takes longer, slows you down and for some things you have to get creative. But where a will is, there is a way.

My place is a small 2 bedroom open summer house for nature lovers – located in the hills by a river and 1.5 km from the beach. The house has a simple, rustic charm with a little solar power, a basic gas stove, and occasional Wi-Fi. It's constantly evolving and improving slowly after being abandoned for 20 years, this means there might be more coming this year. Current plans for this year: Lower terrace renovation, kitchen, furniture, fitted wardrobes, electricity... but you never know when things are actually getting done. There are no direct neighbours.
You can choose between two sleeping options:
🚪 Downstairs: A room with a door, fully darkenable – more private and quiet.
☀️ Upstairs: An open, loft-like space under the roof – bright, airy, and with access to a sunny rooftop terrace. Not as private, but beautiful if you love morning light and open skies.Informations complémentaires
Accès Internet
Accès Internet limité
Nous avons des animaux
Nous sommes fumeurs
Familles bienvenues
Possibilité d’accueillir les digital nomads
WiFi is limited and occasional at the house. In summer, better connections available at beach restaurants 1-2km away. Flexible scheduling of help hours to accommodate your work needs. Own transportation recommended for accessing better internet in nearby towns. Normal electricity will come and then we have 24/7 wifi, but I can't say exactly when. Please ask about Updates if that's relevant for you.
Espace pour garer des vans
There's space for small campers/motorhomes on the property. Access is via a slightly rough road.
Possibilité d'accueillir les animaux
Happy with small dogs, but there is an outdoor cat at my house.
