Description
Hello everyone!
We are Tilly & Klaus and we are sailing around the world. The ship (74ft) was built 36 years ago in the Netherlands and is a very well maintained steel yacht.
We started our circumnavigation 12 years ago in Portugal. We are currently sailing around South East Asia. Next year we plan to cross the Indian Ocean from Sumatra to South Africa.
Until May 2025 we will refit the yacht at a shipyard on Langkawi Island . For this time we are looking for a physically strong helper with good technical knowledge and manual skills, who is experienced in using various (power) tools. Preferably you will have experience of refit work on a ship.

You will learn a lot about refit work on a sail boat.
Aide
First of all, it is important that you have experience of manual work and are familiar with (power) tools, know their names in German or English and know how to use them, so that you can help in a practical way.
Klaus is doing most of the work himself and your job will be to help him, for example by handing him the right tools, using a cordless screwdriver, polishing stainless steel with a polishing machine, sanding wood with an air sander or sandpaper, helping to spray paint the underwater hull, cleaning something, helping to reassemble masts, booms and other parts, etc.
You will not be involved in any dangerous tasks such as using blade saws, rotating discs etc. Appropriate health and safety equipment will be provided and training given where necessary. Local workers from the shipyard are employed to carry out the routine work.

Hébergement
You will have your own private cabin on the ship including your own bathroom. You will share our meals (Tilly is an excellent cook!).
