    Description

We are currently in a small suburb residential terrace house, running a conscious creative retreat coliving space. In this small home, we only have three bedrooms for co-living. We are looking to revamp our house before we welcome visitors again.

    About the help:

For now, we need help in these areas
    1. Gardening - planting, repotting, beautifying the frontyard to make it cozy, watering & keeping the plants happy
    2. Reorganizing our storage room, decluttering, relabeling
    3. Help us repaint the walls (exterior and interior).
    4. Help with some deep cleaning for ignored and overlooked corners.
    5. Run some errands: usually help with buying household sundries at the nearby shops within walking distance, of course we will reimburse the purchases.

    Volunteers meeting our requirements:

    * Loves cat! There are some stray cats with kittens hanging around our house area.
    * Values authenticity, conscious lifestyle, and believes in heart-centered connections & activities
    * Loves the quietness and perhaps uneventfulness of suburb lifestyle
    * Okay with being a house-sitter and occasional alone by yourself (if we need to travel)
    * Independent, able to quickly figure out ways to get around the neighbourhood on your own without much help
    * Clean freak (Often times, travelers are not the neatest person, but we need tidiness in an already somewhat messy/ creative home)
    * If you're generally a problem-solver in the household department, you'll be greatly appreciated
    * Extra points if you love cooking for the community!

You should be an English speaker, and this position is best suited for you if you are an 'ambivert' that can switch between being our goto-person during the times your help is needed when things get busy, and as we are an introvert couple, we promise to leave you alone when you need to tune out from the busy-ness of the day. The volunteers that are a great match for us are usually people who are into what we're doing and can gain knowledge from learning and helping us, at the same time also have their own thing to work on the laptop during the downtime.

    About us:

We are Kevin and Elaine, a Malaysian vegetarian couple in our late 40's running a conscious creative space while working on our own creative endeavors. Kevin, is a woodworker, while Elaine, is a full time artist (painter). We both quit our corporate IT jobs in 2015 to pursue our creative careers.

    About the space:

With the help of our awesome volunteers, we started operating since April 2016. There are only three rooms upstairs that is available for retreat co-living guests who liked our concept of slow simple suburb living and wants to experience our creative offers (intuitive painting, woodworking, etc), live and rest in our environment. As for usual routine here, the shared space we run workshops (from external facilitators). We don't live in the house ourselves, but we come to work here on some days of the month. Our home is just 15 minutes walk from here.

    Lifestyle you'll experience here:

You sometimes will find yourself co-living with other retreat residents / digital nomads here, but there may be times where you will be by yourself in between occupancies, depending on what the universe arranges for you during your stay here :). There may be some very quiet days for you, or at most, with two other residents around. Remember - this is a small house.

If you are looking for meaningful, conscious, heart-centered and organic connection with a Malaysian couple who shares the same beliefs and visions about life (simple living, conscious and creativity), and if you trust synchronicities and that you attract what you vibrates, then we think we will learn a lot from each other! As part of the local community, you will get to join us in organizing social events together as a team (hiking, game night, etc) as that would be the best way to be immersed into the local culture.

If you're interested in helping in an intentional, creative coliving space, this is the right place for you! We’re transitioning from hosting tech-focused digital nomads to creating a slow-living retreat and coliving experience. Here, you’ll gain hands-on insights into fostering a space that blends creativity, mindfulness, and connection.

As we move into this new direction, there will be plenty of opportunities to engage in brainstorming conversations about shaping and refining the retreat concept. You’ll be part of creative discussions that explore how to build a mindful, nurturing environment while also participating in the physical tasks that bring the vision to life.

As we are only 2 person, you will likely be our fabulous Jack or Jacqueline of all trades here, with a focus on helping us with maintaining & managing this creative space. As our passion careers grow, we could use an extra hand to lighten our loads in handling multiple tasks that could get overwhelming at times.

Don't worry about time, because we are flexible. There are times that nothing much needed to be done in a day and you will be left with all the time for yourself! If you are up for helping us in our external projects out of the house, we would be super glad for the extra hands!
