Description
We’re a young couple from the US. After traveling for 4 years we settled in Medellin and have lived here for over six years! Our daughter is 5 years-old and attends the immersive German school. We would like to supplement her Deutsch language skills and would love to welcome an au pair who is fluent in Deutsch.
Minimum stay is 2 weeks.
NO COUPLES! NO PAIRS! We only have room for one person.

We speak English and Spanish fluently and are happy to help you practice the language. We live in a very local area so if you want to immerse yourself in the Colombian culture, you can walk south for 10 minutes, or if you want a bit of expat life and make friends with other mochileros and digital nomads, just walk north for 10 to hang out at Barrio Sur.

Aide
We expect you to work 15 to 20 hours a week in exchange for your own room! We'll also provide breakfast and some meals.
We need someone to feed and play with our daughter 3 or 5 times a week after school in the evening, a few hours on the weekend, and during the day when she's on vacation—currently looking for someone to be available Oct 4 to 9. You're welcome to arrive a week before and stay a week after these dates.
Our daughter is 5 years old and we'll need you to interact with her ONLY in the Deutsch. She loves arts and crafts. There is also a library and a park you can take her to.
If you like cats, you can also lend a light hand with them. It's a plus but not required!

You’ll have:
- Your own room
- Your own key so that you can come in and go out as you want
- Basic cooking essentials like oil and spices and full access to our kitchen
- Washing machine access
- Fast wifi!
- Plenty of independence!
Our house is big! We have a spacious sunny terrace and balcony. We live in Envigado, which is a 10-minute taxi ride to Poblado (the main tourist area). Our location is great because it's flat and near everything you need within walking distance. Within minutes you can walk to Calle de la buena mesa where you'll find around 40 restaurants! We're surrounded by pharmacies, grocery stores, bakeries, bus stops that take you directly to the Metro Station, and parks. Viva Mall is just 20 minutes away on foot.
Many expats live in closed apartments in hilly neighborhoods, that's not us! We live with the locals and because everyone in our neighborhood knows everyone, it adds an extra level of security.
Please be fluent or native in Deutsch. No other languages will be considered at the moment!
No couples. Our reply rate is low because I don't have time to say no to all the couples that respond.

Our place is easy to access. You'll have so much to do on foot. You're welcome to tag along in the morning. I play Padel and do CrossFit. My husband also organizes monthly hikes with other families.

Yes! We used to be digital nomads ourselves so we understand the lifestyle. You can work on our balcony, on the terrace where we have an amazing mountain view, in the kitchen, or your private room. Many coffee shops within walking distance have also WIFI.
