Description
This is an independent hub that focuses on the study, research and promotion of the Lucanian Apennines and Basilicata. The main activities are the promotion of slow and sustainable tourism, naturalistic and humanistic research, dissemination and environmental education, maintenance and management of natural areas, conservation and environmental protection.
Since 2020 we have been managing the center, a beautiful structure in the Lucanian Apennines National Park, where we are involved in nature conservation and outdoor activities.
IMPORTANT!!! we are looking for one or two volunteers with mountain life skills to run the Refuge for 4/5 days a week for at least 3 months. Possibility of joining a European mobility project and thus being paid by the EU. The important thing is that the candidate is able to live independently in the mountains, we will provide all the necessary skills and competences.

Guests will learn how to run a mountain center. He/she will also learn from and collaborate in naturalistic research, wildlife monitoring, hiking trail and mapping activities.
During his stay, the guest will also learn to recognise the wildlife and flora of the Apennines, the traditions of Lucania and the methods of environmental education.
Aide
We are looking for people who can help with the daily management of a mountain center in the Lucanian Apennines National Park. The help required are: reception guests and hikers, cleaning and accommodation of the structure and support in general management and activities.
Guests will only help in the daily running of the center, They will not prepare food for the guests of the center.

Hébergement
Guest will have a room shared with the center staff.
The guest will learn about the culinary tradition of Basilicata and will be able to contribute his knowledge. All help here is voluntary, as the aim is to make this part of the Park more usable.
We will offer three meals daily, or the ingredient to make them.

The center is immersed in the Lucanian Apennines National Park in Basilicata. In his free time the guest can go trekking, mountain biking or visiting Basilicata. The first town is about 9 km away.
