Hi !
We would like to keep traveling from our new home!
After two years of traveling and volunteering all over the world we are happy to host travelers. Before moving to Camblanes, we lived in Paris for several years and in the countryside for 6 years. We bought this house 1 year ago, and there still work to do :)
We renovated our previous house withe workawayers' help that's why we look forward to do it again! We've enjoyed this life-sharing experience and created some great memories. We've also gained friends in the process !
We want to stay in contact with this feeling of "being on the road", meeting new people and enjoying differences. We love discovering people and cultures, exchanging meaningful moments and sharing our home and experiences with those who come and live with us.
We are a family of four. Gabriel is 8 years old and Paul 4 years old. We, Eve and Matthieu, are 36 and 41 years old. We live in a old house (with a swiming pool ;) ) Close to Bordeaux and vineyards.
We are both very interested in the arts, culture, nature, sustainable life. We have great interests in volunteer simplicity, permaculture, autonomy, less impact way of life... We're thinking about how to, experimenting, trying our best, trying again. We also have interest in mindfulness/meditation.
Matthieu is going back to school in September to become a journalist, which is why we need help this summer. So that we can make as much progress as possible before the start of the new school year.
For us, it's a real sharing experience. We have meals together and we want the volunteers to participate in the life of our house. In general, volunteers 'work' 5 hours a day for 5 days, we prepare meals together and spend time together. We also invite you to share in our activities. If we go out or are invited to friends' homes, you're welcome as our guest!
We love to cook and make sure we eat good, mostly organic produce.
We're also happy to help you practice your French if it's one of the reason of your stay.

We would be glad to share with you the French culture and make you discover our region. The region is fantastic to explore nature and remarkable cities and old stones villages. We are very close to Bordeaux so it's easy to discover both city and nature.
We're also happy to help you practice your French if it's one of the reason of your stay.
We are very interested in culture, litterature, politics, economics, and could also talk about travel with you, as we travelled the world for two years in 2014 and 2015.
We renovated a barn for two years, and Matthieu has now a lot of capabilities in work constructions. Depending on the needs, he could share with you how to !

We're looking for help to renovate the house next to ours.
Matthieu already have experience in renovating but doing everything alone is quite hard !

We are flexible, but we prefer a minimum of 3-4 weeks stay to know each other and live easy !
Before we decide to accept any WorkAwayer, we will ask to Skype with you. We appreciate speaking directly with guests before they arrive to make sure that we are on the same page regarding the stay.
It's necessary you to speak french (a bit). We speak French, English or Spanish and would like you to speak one of them well enough to entertain a conversation in which we can exchange ideas.
The nearest city (Bordeaux) is 15 minutes by car or public transport from our house. 1hour from the Bassin d'Arcachon.
We have bicycles available.
We have Internet connection.
We have a nice cat. She is independent and likes sleeping on the sofa.
We prefer non-smokers or light-somkers and only allow smoking outside.

They were exceptional hosts. I truly did feel at home right away. Some nights after work, we would sit around with a drink chatting for hours. On weekends, we visited many beautiful villages in the surrounding region and I learned lots of fun, little facts along the way.
