Description
My name is Bulos, and this is my family's farm. I was born in Jerash and my family comes from Dibbeen, where the farm is located.
After returning from the US ten years ago, I dedicated my time to this 20-dunam farm. I uprooted dead trees and planted over two thousand more, set up an irrigation system, renovated the house, installed pergolas, fixed and extended the old fence, and built retaining walls.
Throughout the years, I have also done the seasonal work of irrigation, fertilization, pruning, pest control, harvest, preservation, olive oil production, packaging, and transportation.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
Volunteers will develop the skills needed for a farmer, and will learn about the Jordanian culture from me and the workers who come to work at the farm.
During the harvest seasons we organize social events where the participants join the harvest, eat and play and sing together, hang out in nature and have some joyful time. Such events attract locals and people from different parts of the world, making them great opportunities for me and everybody to learn about different cultures and traditions.Aide
Most of the help needed is during the harvest two harvest seasons: fruit in late Spring and olive in late Autumn.

The second floor of the house has a room for two volunteers, a bathroom/toilet, and a dining room with a fridge, a sink, and some kitchenware. Volunteers can use the downstairs kitchen to cook whatever they want. They are also welcome to camp if they prefer to sleep outside; tents, sleeping bags, mats, blankets, and anything needed for camping is provided.
Unless needed, food is shared. We cook together meals with consideration to the dietary restrictions of everybody present: vegetarian, vegan, lactose-free, gluten-free, or the like. The ingredients are bought fresh if not grown on the farm or preserved. Whenever possible we have our meals on the terrace with a view of the Dibbeen forest, otherwise we use the dining area downstairs.Autres infos...
