The middle child is a girl who is deaf and uses English and sign language to communicate. The youngest is a girl and speaks French and English. We are currently looking for help from mid-May to early July, minimum of 2 weeks please.

This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
This is a good opportunity for people with an interest in working with kids with special needs - for example, speech therapy students, deaf education students, occupational therapists, teachers, etc.
We're a well-traveled, relaxed family and we enjoy meeting people from around the world.
In the past we have had several workawayers who were coming to NZ for a long time and staying with us at the beginning to get settled. We can help with information, showing you around, etc. We can also lend you a car for sightseeing over the weekend.
During Level 3 we are looking for help homeschooling and playing with our kids, around 2-3 hrs per day.
Once the kids are back in school we will need help either driving our son to his school bus or taking our daughter to daycare (15 minutes away). Then occasional after-school help, playing with the kids, possibly taking them to activities, helping out with cooking, tidying up, etc. Ideally we would like someone with teaching, ECE or special needs experience. The hours would generally be in the morning either from 7:40-8:15 or 8-9, then 2 afternoons per week from 2-6 PM, plus occasional afternoon or evening help (usually just to be home while our daughter naps so that I can run errands). So it would suit someone who has a part-time job.

We have a room with its own bathroom and kitchenette. It has a single bed that can be converted to a double. We offer use of a car and prefer volunteers who can either drive or are very good with public transport. We live close to a train station (about a 10-min walk) and several bus routes. We are also close to bike paths.
We are in a fairly central part of Auckland so you can easily get into the centre of town or go to the west coast beaches. We can also lend you a bike.
