Description
About us
We are a young family of four living in Romania, with two children (ages 4 and 9). About two years ago, we started a life transition project by moving to a property in the forest, with the goal of building a more sustainable and intentional lifestyle.
We are at the beginning of this journey and actively learning by doing — experimenting with regenerative agriculture, permaculture principles, and biointensive gardening. Our vision is to gradually create a self-sufficient system that works in harmony with nature.
Our place is quiet, surrounded by forest, and offers a simple, grounded lifestyle close to nature.
What we’re working on
There are always a variety of hands-on projects depending on the season. Some of the main activities include:
Preparing and maintaining the garden
Collecting and spreading mulch
Planting and general garden care
Building a fence
Constructing a mobile chicken coop
Finishing a treehouse for the kids
Helping with cooking or daily household tasks.
Building an ecological outdoor toilet. We are also working on building a rainwater harvesting system to support our goal of becoming more self-sufficient and sustainable.
General help around the homestead
We try to keep things diverse, so you can experience different types of activities rather than repetitive work.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for open-minded, proactive people who enjoy nature, simple living, and aren’t afraid of getting their hands dirty. Experience is a plus, but not required — willingness to learn and a positive attitude are much more important.
This is a great place if you’re interested in:
Sustainable living
Permaculture & regenerative practices
Slowing down and reconnecting with nature
Experiencing family life and homeschooling dynamics
What you can expect
In exchange for your help, we offer:
A peaceful environment in nature
A chance to learn and practice sustainable living skills
Shared meals and cultural exchange
A warm, family-oriented atmosphere
We value connection, meaningful conversations, and creating a supportive environment for everyone involved.

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
Our place is located in a historic “Golden Quadrangle” region, known for its rich deposits of gold and minerals. While there is no active exploitation today, you can explore this heritage through nearby museums and local stories.
The surroundings are truly magical — a mix of forest, meadows, and fruit trees. Depending on the season, you can enjoy fresh fruits and even go mushroom foraging in the forest, which is both a rewarding and memorable experience.
For those who enjoy outdoor activities, there are beautiful trails nearby that are great for mountain biking, especially during the dry season.
Cultural exchange here is simple and authentic: sharing meals, cooking together over the fire pit, spending evenings around the fire, and sometimes playing music together. We value these moments of connection, where stories, skills, and experiences are naturally exchanged.
Aide
We are looking for help with a variety of hands-on, practical tasks around our homestead, depending on the season and ongoing projects.
Most of the help is outdoors and may include:
Preparing and maintaining the garden (planting, weeding, watering)
Collecting, moving, and spreading mulch
Supporting our biointensive and permaculture garden
Expanding the biodiversity of our land by planting and caring for a variety of fruit trees and other useful plants
Building projects such as fencing, a mobile chicken coop, or small wooden structures (like a treehouse)
There are also lighter, indoor or shared activities such as:
Helping with cooking or meal preparation
General help around the household and yard
We usually work together and try to keep a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Tasks are varied, so you won’t be doing the same thing every day, and you’ll have the chance to learn different skills along the way.
No advanced skills are required, but a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and comfort with physical work are important.

Hébergement
Depending on your preference, you can sleep inside the house in the living room, with access to a shared bathroom, kitchen, and all basic utilities (including stove, freezer, and kitchen appliances). We also have some musical instruments that you’re welcome to use.
Alternatively, if you prefer more privacy or a closer connection to nature, you can stay in your own caravan or in a caravan available nearby.
Once completed, you will also have the option to sleep in our treehouse — a unique and cozy experience surrounded by nature.
