  Hi
  We are Lara and Maurice, we are working to turn our land into place for personal growth, regeneration and peace. Implementing principles from Permaculture where Humans and Nature can live in reciprocity, benefiting from each other, while innovating for a brighter future.
  We are located on a south facing slope just above a valley with beautiful views and great walking routes and little streams which only sometimes hold water. A place in nature with good access by Car.
  In the first years of this journey we have learned a lot from our successes and failures, have grown our family (by 2 dogs and 3 cats), and also managed to renovate a traditional algarvian house, all while still working on an irregular schedule.
  Now to keep our dream evolving further, enriching our souls and the land, we need helping hands and new perspectives. Further down you see the work possibilities, always depending on current projects, weather, and the skills you will bring along.
  Formerly in the hospitality area, now Maurice is a professional cleaner with trainings in permaculture, cooking, nutrition and management. Lara is a Yoga 500h+ teacher and Pilates trainer (amongst other fitness related trainings), life-coach, reiki master and spiritual guide, womb keeper, cacao ceremony facilitator, always staying curious about learning new skills.
  
  We are looking forward to hearing from you and your skills which could possibly help us make our dream come true.

  Exchange is important to us, ideally every single one of us can learn from a stay.
  By having the opportunity of sharing time with a integrating foreigner and a native from the land, we bring a unique mixture of perspectives both in a cultural, communal and spiritual sense. We also bring various skillsets that we are very keen to share ranging from Natural Building, Permaculture, Cooking and Nutrition to Yoga, Spirituality and Life-Coaching. Obviously, we are open to have nice chats about anything else too. Apart from that you should use your free time to explore the surroundings go for a walk in nature, study or read books!.

  Aide

  Our Projects and the work involved change constantly, so it is difficult to tell you ahead what we're currently up to.
  If you are particularely skilld and motivated in one of the mentioned topics please let us know!
  
  Your Contribution can range from basic garden maintenance and land cleaning, up to more sophisticated building projects using natural building technics, wood or even concrete. We also have plenty of gardening tasks that includes pruning, clearing, shredding, irrigating, planting and landscaping, going all the way to improving water management and soil erosion. It doesn’t have to stop there either, if you are skilled in Cooking we’ll love you to join the culinary ride! You will also take the Dogs for Walks and participate in keeping the house clean.
  You must be able to work independently and with your own initiative, some tasks we will do together, where as other things you are expected to do by yourself. We like to keep things as simple as possible and go with the flow where possible. Some help is fun and one can keep going for longer periods of time, but others are heavy and therefor the labour involved will be done in a more comprehensive way. That’s why we like to keep it flexible and respect the situations and skills from the people involved.
  Part of the Work you will do with your own initiative after our instructions either alone or with other volunteer's.

  Hébergement

  You will be living with us in a recently renovated traditional Algarvian house. Please only bring eco friendly soaps and other body care products as all our wastewater is treated on site and re-used on the land. Our meals are plant based; animal products are not desired. We usually cook and eat meals together (when possible), for the goal is to create a communal, friendly and sociable environment. Full board is included with 3 meals a day. We expect from you that you keep the premisses tidy and clean,. Internet is available and included. Sometimes a bit slow and not in all rooms, however we have excellent 4G connection.

  Be aware that we are a plant based household, therefor meals will not include any animal products. As we live on the countryside, we have domestic animals sharing life with us, which are considered as important as people and members of our family, it is of most importance to respect their presence and needs as also they love to take part in the social exchange too.
  
  There are regular Yoga and Pilates classes happening which you can join when space is available. We usually exchange one class of choice for one hour of work. We also have irregular workshops/events which might be of interest to you.
  
  We are located in central Algarve, 35 minutes from the closest beaches, 1.5 Hours to the spanish border and 1.5 hours to the Westcoast. We have plenty walking or swimming options available within 10-15 minutes drive, the closest village is 5 minutes by car and you will reach Loulé where bigger stores/supermarkets are within a 15 minutes drive.
  In case you come with a campervan we have parking possibilities close to the main house.
