Description
I have sold our house in Falcon, a suburb of Mandurah situated 80 kms from Perth. During late November and early December I will move to the coastal scrub covered block in Esperance. Esperance has the most beautiful white beaches with aqua blue water and is a high tourist and traveller destination but lacks accommodation in summer.
I may need help packing and moving, partly because I care for my mother, and due to my permaculture habit of reusing materials, recycling etc resulting in a large amount of stuff I have to move, and the way I need to transport it.
In Esperance sleeping accommodation can be provided in a small caravan. Facilities will include - compost toilet, bore water (same water that supplies the town and is good quality) and camp cooking using gas (no open fires allowed during summer). Solar generator for recharging batteries etc.
The Permaculture set up experience may include erecting shade shelters, rain water collection shelters, a poultry pen (chook pen on steroids), and minimal gardening maintaining the plants I will take with me in pots.
Possibly in January I will have Council approval to erect a large shed and then i will start making aircrete bricks to build a dome home.
My mother was a healthy 94 year old with memory loss but since turning 95 and suffering a cold she is much more frail. Previously Pamela liked to sit and watch the birds that visit our garden, the goldfish swimming in the pond, go out for coffee and whatever adventures I could provide and depending on the day read, colour in and help with the washing up. I have been living with her for nearly 7 years (the first year my father was also alive) and I have been grateful that she could take care of her own hygiene needs. This has now changed. Unfortunately she is very modest and unlikely to accept help with her hygiene needs from anyone but me. Help may be needed providing meals for her and being a companion although she tends to sleep most of the time now.
I have internet access in Mandurah but you will need your own SIM in Esperance. Coverage is usually good.
Hours will be flexible for example, if driving to Esperance with me that takes about 8 hours. It may be a great way to get to Esperance and then continue your travels over East. Or you may want to stay a while and explore the area. The weather is variable and may include overcast and windy conditions, rain or clear skies
and hot sunny days.
The help I need will change over time but the theme of alternative living - building with alternative products, off grid for power and water, permaculture garden etc will continue.
If this excites you please send me a message.

Permaculture - Join me as I experiment with all things Permaculture in an off grid environment.
Aircrete Dome house building in 2025.
Surf culture - I surf on a stand up paddle and love the beach.Aide
Any or all of the list will be required over a few months.
November - December
If you have a forklift operator certificate it would be valuable for loading IBC's into the containers. I haven't worked everything out yet, e.g. how to transport the plants in pots and the chooks but I have a few options. I will be packing most stuff into shipping containers and have them delivered.
Depending on other factors I may need someone to drive my Renault Kangoo van whilst I tow a van with a stronger vehicle.
Once in Esperance
Garden - permaculture principles preferred but not essential. Creating compost piles, raising seedlings, weeding, nurturing plants. Garden art.
Art - painting my old bus - maybe a mural or just plain paint. If shipping containers are old - camouflaging them with plants or paint.Langues parlées

Hébergement

In Esperance - small caravanAutres infos...
Our place in Falcon is walking distance to beach, a sports oval, tennis courts, & is a longer walk or cycling distance to cafes, shops, surf breaks and family recreation area beach (Falcon). The RAMSAY listed estuary has many walking trails & many allow bicycles. The bus goes down our street and connects to the train station connecting you to Perth.
In Esperance it is also walking distance but further to get to the beach as the cliffs are high and access points infrequent.Informations complémentaires

Megan has been a joy to host showing she was more than competent in caring for my 94 year old mother whilst I had nearly a weeks respite. (The angel I needed). Not only did she keep my mother entertained, fed and happy, the house was clean, chooks fed and happy and even the goldfish seemed unaware of my absence. Megan swept… read more
Merrilee couldn’t have done enough for me, I loved my time here and definitely loved seeing the chooks everyday! Such characters!
