  Description

  I live in Savoie, France, in the Bauges Mountains. I am retired, 85 years old, and have been a widower for three years. I need help tidying up and doing a number of tasks around my traditional house and on the property: the garden, trees, and vehicles.
  I have worked in several professions, including as a lawyer and a professor. I enjoy sharing my experiences and knowledge, as well as what I know about my region, France, the Alps, and nearby parts of Europe.

  For me, the ideal situation would be to host a couple, because Im neither part of a family nor a businessI live alone.
  The Workawayers will find a comfortable bedroom here, or, if they are two independent individuals, two adjoining bedrooms. They will use my bathroom, which is equipped with a sink, a bathtub, and a toilet.
  Ill prepare all three meals and eat with them as much as possiblethough Im quite busybut in any case, well go grocery shopping together, and theyll be free to prepare whatever they need or whatever theyd like on their own, with full use of the kitchen facilities.
  While we wont always eat together, of course, Ill be available to talk with them about the history and geography of Savoie, France, and Europe, as well as most other topics that might interest them. Ill explain the local options for hiking, swimming in the river or the small lake, and other recreational activities, provided they can cover the costs.
  
  As for work, I need help moving and organizing furniture and items I brought back when I sold my property in Portugal a year ago. They can also help me in the garden and with moving items, or assist me with minor repairs on two vintage cars and six vintage motorcycles that are herebut this isnt about burdening them with technical work. Perhaps, if theyre interested, I could show them a few things in this area and in other aspects of my activities around the house; thats no problem. Of course, I have no intention of employing them to replace regular workers.

  Hébergement

  A room in my house with shared use of the bathroom and kitchen. My house is on a large property with meadows and woods in the countryside; there are always plenty of opportunities for walks, hiking in the mountains, and swimming in the small river.
  
  In any case, we'll have time to talk, we'll prepare and eat meals together, and my other children will have everything they need to cook for themselves. They can give me their shopping list if they want, and I'll get them what they need.

  Buses run to neighboring towns, which are connected to all of Europe by the TGV. Bicycles for getting around locally—I have bicycles for getting around locally.
