  Description

  We are a family of four: Antón, the little one, active, adventurous, nature-lover; Uxía, getting to teenager, dreamy, avid-reader, musician and dancer, always sociable; Julia, my wife, a biologist turned medical-writer who works from home, cooks beautifully, keeps the orchard running; and myself, Gerardo, an IT-work-from-homer guy, who loves to play music, tries to keep the garden well kept and loves to keep active.
  
  The area where we live, Vedra, a mere 15 minute drive from Santiago de Compostela, is a beautiful rural area which is very well connected to a small city like Santiago is; inland but close enough to the sea too. A beautiful place with plenty of opportunities for walks, bathing in the river, summer "fiestas", etc.

  Everyone in our family speaks good English, as we lived for 15 years in the UK, where both our kids were born. We also speak Spanish and Galician, our mother tongue. Uxía still speaks fluent Welsh, which she learned before we moved back to Spain.
  
  The main Workawayer's responsibility will be to spend time with the kids, playing with them and helping them with summer homework, so you will have plenty of opportunities to practice different languages!
  
  We are a family rooted in both music and Galician traditions: clarinet, piano, bagpipes, pandeireta, singing, dancing... The Workawayer will have the opportunity of experiencing all that with us as we go to either perform or just enjoy.
  
  We keep a small orchard, so whoever joins us will be most welcomed to lend a hand and learn how to keep one themselves, if they so choose.
  
  The area of Vedra and A Ulla in particular, has plenty of summer "fiestas" and activities to attend and Santiago is a short drive or bus ride away, so finding something to do, even on days off, should be easy.

  Help with the day to day chores in the house and, specially, spending time with Antón and Uxía, doing activities with them and perhaps helping Antón with his summer homework :)

  We all speak fluent English, Spanish and Galician. Uxía is pretty fluent in Welsh, which Julia and Gerardo know at a beginner level.

  Hébergement

  A bedroom in a country house, with a large, shared, bathroom. Access to all other parts of the house and garden. We can usually offer rides to Santiago and/or pick up from the bus stop, which is nearby.
  
  Breakfast at our place is typically had independently. Within reason, we should be able to provide whatever you need.
  
  The Workawayer might have to cook simple meals for the kids for lunch if both of us are working.
  
  Dinner is where typically we all sit together and enjoy a meal outdoors... or perhaps watch a movie or a chapter of a series. Julia or I will usually take care of that.
  
  Uxía loves baking so, every now and then, she will treat us to one of our creations.
