We are a Permaculture Design and Natural Building Institute.
We successfully transformed our land from a commercial corn/rice farm into an abundant, productive, Permaculture Design and Natural Building Education Center.
We give Permaculture and Natural Building courses every month.
We use integrated companion systems to demonstrate large-scale sustainable agriculture.
We integrate cultures and community to affect positive change in outlook in our local and international communities.
We build community trust and soil, the foundation for transformation and integration of people and resources.
We spread seeds of knowledge and information through visitors, courses, and skill-share.

By volunteering with us, you will be shown how to cook dishes the way we do in Isaan and get familiar with the traditional plants and ingredients we use.
You will also have the opportunity to learn a little bit of Thai language (or more if you're interested and skilled) and develop your understanding of Thai culture, all the while mingling with people from all over the world!
Living on a Permaculture farm, you will also be able to learn more about permaculture techniques and philosophy, and, if interested, could even lend us a hand with developing our natural building infrastructures (bungalows, pathways, laundry station, etc.).
Also, as you integrate our Permaculture Intentional Community, you will experience the communal lifestyle we all cherish, working towards a goal of communion and harmony, both with people and Nature.
We are looking for enthusiastic Workawayers who would love to be part of our Permaculture Intentional Community!
We are looking for 5 different profiles:
2- Video editor
3- Web content works
4- Original web content creation
We are looking for a Workawayer to help maintain our gardens. Activities will include irrigation, weeding, mulching, taking care of the plant nursery, as well as planting and harvesting when appropriate. You would be in charge of working with/managing volunteers and allocating work schedules & duties (currently full until May 2020).
2- Video editor
We are looking for a Workawayer who has experience in video editing. We are launching a not-for-profit online institute and need help in creating the videos of our online courses. We have an established format to be followed and need help in producing the edited footage of what has already been filmed.
3- General website content works (no prior technical experience needed - for people who like to write)
We are looking for people who could do any or all of the following:
- Move content from text format to our new website, and re-create a visual layout (insert pictures and blocs/elements placement)
- Transcription of Bill Mollison's Permaculture: A Designers' Manual from pdf file to text, and development into web format to be uploaded to the website - for permaculture students reference
- Creating transcripts of our online course videos (creating subtitle files, correcting and adjusting them, issuing transcripts from the adjusted files)
4- Experienced web content creator
We are looking for Workawayers with experience in original web content creation to create reference subsites related to permaculture topics (ecovillage, animal husbandry, food forestry, soil science, etc.). The tasks will include research, content scribing and writing, SEO content writing and visual presentation (adding pictures, creating a proper visual layout in accordance with the main site as well as the subject of each subsite).
In addition, if the Workawayers desire - during their free time - to help around the garden for regular maintenance (watering, pruning trees, composting, etc.) or for special projects with our interns and volunteers (natural building, digging holes, planting trees, stoning pathways, etc.), all the better!
We are looking for people who would like to invest themselves for a very minimum of 1 month (ideally 2 to 3 months would be great) and, in return, we would offer free accommodation and food (3 meals a day, tea/coffee/filtered water). High-speed fiber internet is available for free in the communal sala.
Furthermore, if you actually enjoy being part of our community, if you find your place in our team ("get in where you fit in" is our motto) and desire to do more, longer-term arrangements can be made.
Your personal goals should be something along these lines:
-To have a fulfilling experience with Permaculture and farm life.
-To learn by doing, self-directed learning - learning together, making mistakes, a mistake is never a negative just a lesson to be learned.
-To be a part of the community and help us along any way you can. --- Including cooking and cleaning and all that fun stuff!
-To enjoy relaxation after work.
-To have fun and feel excitement by taking part in such a unique traveling/living experience!
-If desired, the potential to stay long-term.
English, Thai, Laos, French, Spanish... always changing
You will be hosted in a charming private teak bungalow (same as our students), fully equipped with a mattress, bedding, mosquito net, electric outlets, and fan.
Our showers and toilets are shared (common areas) but they have lots of privacy.
Food and cleaning: we do accommodate vegetarian, vegan and meat diets.
We all help for cooking (during courses, there is a students' rotation to help with kitchen duties), and you should be opened to help with some cleaning responsibilities (especially in the kitchen - but we could ask you, from time to time, to help us in cleaning the showers/toilets/bungalows).
We ask everyone to abide by these rules so we can all live happily and healthily together:
-Be mindful of your actions. Ex) noise, smoking, waste, energy use… basically all the stuff you learn in kindergarten. We don’t restrict you from doing anything (unless it’s violent or illegal of course), but just being mindful and respectful is all anyone can ask.
-We have individual tasks and/or personal time in the afternoons, but there may very well be things for you to help with, or you are welcome to just relax. It’s important to note that all of the long-term members have management responsibilities on the farm, which often involve research, teaching, planning, sourcing materials, and computer work. This just means that we should be able to direct you in a task, but you also need to be comfortable working on your own, with other short-termers, or just relaxing if we have other priorities.
We promise to make every effort to facilitate your working desires, as full-on or relaxed as they may be.
-Cleaning up after yourself is a must; we are not a guesthouse.
-Respecting Thai culture as there are often many Thai workers on the farm, as well as the family who owns it. This means trying to be polite and smile, saying hello (in Thai), no skinny-dipping before dark, if sitting with them don’t show the bottoms of your feet, etc. We will help you more with how to respect the culture when you arrive.
Well, I guess that's it - if you have any questions just get in touch....hope to meet you and work with you soon - PEACE!
