Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
We enjoy welcoming travelers to our home and appreciate the unique perspectives that guests from around the world bring. While we are a friendly and hospitable household, we are also naturally quiet and reserved people who value a calm, orderly environment.
For us, cultural exchange happens best through genuine, low-key connections rather than constant high-energy activities. We like gathering around the table for a calm dinner and good conversation, but we also respect each other's quiet time and independence.
What the exchange looks like at our place:
Thoughtful Conversation: We enjoy sharing stories about our background and hearing about yours over a shared meal or a cup of tea in the evening.
Language Practice: We speak fluent English and Afrikaans and are happy to help you practice in a patient, relaxed setting.
Local Insight: We are glad to share local history, point you toward scenic spots and quiet hiking trails, and give you recommendations to explore the region at your own pace.
Practical Skills: We are happy to show you how we manage our garden, general work around the house if you are interested in learning.
Our Ideal Volunteer:
We fit best with volunteers who are independent, relatively fit, respectful of personal space, and appreciate a quiet household after a day's work. If you value peaceful surroundings, clear routines, and calm, friendly interaction, you will feel right at home here." -

Aide
We are looking for a reliable, hands-on volunteer to help us keep our garden and around the house running smoothly. The help is mostly practical and outdoors, so a good level of physical fitness and an enjoyment of nature will serve you well.
Main tasks include:
General help in the garden, including weeding, tidying up outdoor areas, and light land maintenance.
We appreciate volunteers who are self-motivated, practical, and able to work independently once given direction. Tasks are laid-back and well-paced, leaving plenty of quiet downtime for you to relax, read, or explore the surrounding countryside. -
