  Description

  Dear Workawayer,
  we are a family of 5 (youngest son 9 years old, daughter 16 years old and the eldest son 17 years old) and a family dog called Luna. We live in a house in the green area of Vienna next to the famous Vienna forest and the river Wienfluß.
  
  We would be glad to get to know people from other cultures and practice other languages as English or French. The kids go to school and we are working during the day. For dinner we would usually sit together and be happy if you had time to join us in order to getting to know you and practice the language. So we are looking for a workawayer who is quite independent and wants to get to know Vienna, do a language course or whatever and who is happy to spend some time with us praciticing the language and help in our household the same way a family member would do (kitchen, organizing toys,...) up to the maximum of 1-1,5 hours per day.
  
  On the weekends you are welcome to join us for a walk in the woods or come with us in case we go to upper Austria to a cottage. You are welcome to stay with us for 1 month to 12 month.

  You will get the chance to know how an Austrian family lives and maybe pick up some German.
  We live in Vienna the capital of Austria, known for the imperial palaces and the Habsburgs’ summer residence. You can visit the St.Stephen's cathedral and other famous places and museums, such as the Belvedere, where you can find the famous painting "Der Kuss" by Gustav Klimt. Companies that offer language courses are situated in town about 20 minutes away from our place.

  Aide

  Language practice:
  Our children have to learn French at school. So it would be great for them to get the opportunity to speak with a native speaker. They are only at home in the late afternoon and on the weekends. So it would be great if you could spend some time with them once in a while.
  
  Help in the houshold:
  You should just help like a family member would do - (cleaning the kitchen, helping with tidying up the toys of the youngest boy, hanging up the laundry,...) - this takes around 1-1,5 hours per day.

  You will have a bright lockable room of about 20m2 and a shared bathroom. The bathroom will mainly be used by you as we and the kids do have another bathroom in the upper floor. In the room you have a bed, a desk, a closet, a little couch and a TV. We do offer unlimited Wifi access. The house is surrounded by a garden.
  
  We live in Vienna in the 14th district in the area of the Wienerwald, which is a quite green part of Vienna. Our house is situated right next to a train station. During rush hours there is a train 4 times per hour and brings you downtown (Stephansplatz) within 30 minutes. There are also several busses that you can take to get to town.
  
  In case you are sportive you can go hiking in the woods, trail running, mountain biking or go running or cycling along the Wienfluß (Viennese River).

  Supermarkets and a big shopping mall are in walking distance (8 Minutes). With public transport you can be in downtown (Stephansplatz) within 30 Minutes. Vienna is a big city with a lot of interesting sights all reachable within about 40-50 Minutes. Some, like the castle of Schönbrunn, are even closer - it takes you about 25 Minutes to get there.
  
  There are a lot of Museums in Vienna. In case you visit one of those you can also take one of the kids along - if you want to.
  
  Furthermore there are theatres, the opera house and two big concert halls.
  
  If you are very sportive you can go hiking, biking and running in the Vienna Woods or along the Vienna river.
  
  We recommend to you buying a weekly or monthly ticket for the public transportation in Vienna.
