Description
[Welcome to My Creative Workshop in Tongyeong]
1. My Style & Hobby
I am an economist based in Seoul, and I often travel to my second house in Tongyeong to recharge and enjoy my creative hobby projects.
Instead of going to the gym, I spend about five hours a day doing DIY projects, gardening, and creating unique outdoor spaces. Because I work alone on large areas, my garden is always a little messy and unfinished — but that is exactly what makes it a creative playground where imagination can grow freely.
2. Creating Together
This is a personal hobby project, not a business. I host Workawayers because I enjoy meeting people from different cultures, sharing ideas, and creating something meaningful together.
One of my favorite hosting memories was with a young Workawayer who dreamed of recreating Van Gogh’s Café Terrace at Night. Inspired by her vision, we spent two days transforming my garden pergola into a vibrant piece of art. Seeing her dream come to life alongside mine reminded me that the best ideas often come through collaboration.
If you have your own creative idea, I would love to hear it. Let’s make it happen together.
3. Current Projects: Doing tasks Together
We usually do projects together for around 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, and I always work alongside you.
Projects may include:
-Creating the Global Lantern Garden
-Small DIY and art projects
-Gardening and landscaping
-Cooking and sharing meals from different cultures
4. Daily Life & Travel: Exploring Korea from Tongyeong
After work, we enjoy dinner together and exchange stories about our countries, languages, travel experiences, Korean culture, and sometimes economics or business if you are interested.
The rest of the day is yours to relax and explore Tongyeong. You can discover Tongyeong’s hidden alleys, local markets, and seaside cafés.
4-1. Our Location: The Perfect Base in Tongyeong
My house is located in the very center of Tongyeong, so most tourist attractions, hot spots, restaurants, and cafés are within walking distance. The ocean is only 100 meters away, making this a perfect place to discover something new every day without a car.
Tongyeong is famous as the birthplace of many Korean artists, and its beautiful seaside scenery has inspired generations of painters, musicians, and writers.
Tongyeong is also an excellent base for exploring Korea. Busan is only about 1 hour and 10–20 minutes away by bus, and many beautiful southern cities and nearby islands can be visited as easy one-day trips.
By staying here, you can take one-day trips to Busan and nearby destinations, leave in the morning and return in the evening, and save money on hotels and other travel expenses.
This is a rare opportunity to experience Korea in a way that few other places can offer — combining vibrant cities, peaceful countryside, and beautiful islands all from one convenient base.
5. Future Dream: Yokji Island
I also have a long-term dream on Yokji Island: transforming an untouched hillside and farmhouse into a peaceful Yokji Alps Farm with gardens, goats and other animals, treehouses, organic vegetables, and spaces where people and nature can live together.
If you have experience or ideas about landscaping, sustainable farming, treehouses, creating beautiful outdoor spaces, or traditional farm skills such as cheese making, milking, and yogurt making, I would be very happy to learn from you and share ideas together.
6. My Promise: Your Second House in Korea
If we create something meaningful together, I hope this place will always feel like your second house in Korea.
You are always welcome to return, relax, and visit the spaces we created together as friends.
7. Preferred Volunteers & Duration
I especially welcome independent solo travelers aged 30+ who enjoy creating, cooking, gardening, or simply sharing ideas and life experiences.
This project works best when we have enough time to know each other and create something meaningful together, so I normally ask for a minimum stay of 3–4 weeks.
8. How to Apply
Please send me a message introducing yourself, telling me about your interests, experiences, and why this project speaks to you.
I look forward to creating something meaningful together. -

Accommodation & Meals
You’ll stay in a clean, comfortable private or shared room (1–2 people per room) with heating, air-conditioning, and Wi-Fi.
We always share meals together like friend— and sometimes local neighbors or friends drop by to eat with us, too.
It’s a warm and friendly home environment, not a workplace.
You’ll have your own quiet time to rest, and we often enjoy good food and conversation together in the evenings.
There, you can experience fishing, kayaking, or simply relax and enjoy peaceful island life surrounded by nature. -
Autres infos...
On your days off, you can explore Tongyeong by riding my e-bike and visiting local markets, hidden alleys, and seaside cafés.
You can also walk along the beach with my friendly border collie and enjoy the peaceful harbor view.
Sometimes we take short ferry trips to nearby islands or visit my second project on Yokji Island.
Life here is quiet and warm — we cook, talk, and share stories with local neighbors and travelers.
Please keep the place tidy and respect others’ space, just like a family home. -

Possibilité d’accueillir les digital nomads
The house has a strong Wi-Fi connection and several quiet spots to work — you can use the living room, terrace, or garden area depending on the weather. Many digital nomads enjoy working here in the morning and joining our cooking or cultural activities in the afternoon. The environment is peaceful, surrounded by trees, sea breeze, and birdsong, making it easy to focus and relax at the same time.
