++ Help Needed March 2025 ++
Hi, my name is Jeff and I am from London. Come and help me to renovate a traditional Istrian limestone house & barn and clear some land opposite. I always have a number of projects on the go. I will be checking out local restaurants & tourist attractions as well as walking paths and out of the way beaches. We are within a short distance of a beach bar and the sea.

I am keen to learn more about Croatia and the local area. My village has a restaurant and a supermarket and lies midway between Pula and Rijeka.
I would like to explore local facilities by car and on foot so I know what the area has to offer as this is constantly changing. The house is on the old coast road, prominent in the village not isolated. There is a bus stop opposite where you can get buses direct to major towns like Rijeka, Pula, Zagreb and Split.
English is widely understood in most towns & tourist areas in Istria. German and Italian are also useful languages to have.

I will be rendering and plastering some internal walls. Help would be needed to prepare the walls and mix cement.
There are some original old oak ceiling beams in the house which I am considering tidying up and revitalising with Danish oil.
I need help clearing the spare land of weeds & small shrubs and strimming the grass. Also weeding around the house & barn. Wood cleared last summer can be used for a bonfire & barbecue.
There is a dry stone wall that regularly needs some maintenance. I hope to clear out the barn and I may replace some of the floorboards upstairs.
Assistance with some of these jobs would be appreciated so any carpentry or cement-work skills would be put to good use.

Hébergement
The house has two large upstairs bedrooms with comfortable beds & mattresses. You would be staying in one of these rooms. There is a shower, washing machine and gas cylinder for cooking. There is no broadband in the house although a mobile signal is always available.

The nearest town is Labin about 9 km away where there are many shops and bars. Old Labin is an interesting medieval hilltop town with good views, bars and restaurants in the main square and a picturesque 2.5km walk down to the main resort of Rabac where there is a marina, campsite and activities available such as scuba diving and boat rental.
Plomin is another hilltop village (within walking distance) that is seeing a revival with artists & craftsmen taking up residence. Recently an excellent pizza restaurant has opened which is very good value.

I have hosted several IT workers who have lots of roaming data from their companies as there is a good signal although I don't have a router and broadband.
