Description
We are Beatrice and Valerio, together with little Aleida (Big sister), Talise (Little sister) and an undefined number of hungry cats.
After several experiences as workawayers in South America and Canary Islands, it's finally our time to host.
We live in the countryside of Ostuni, in an ancient stone construction with barrel vaults and trulli, surrounded by our colorful mediterranean garden with pool and a big plot of land, cultivated mainly with olive, almond and fig trees.
After some renovations of the place we reached a certain level of self-sufficiency, together with organic agriculture and cultural exchange at the core of our vision and we are happy to share our project with people on the way.
We like working together, learning from the land and exchanging skills and hard (but also light) tasks. Enjoying the rest after labor, the moment of shared meals and building connections that cross every border. -

You will experience life as a local in Valle d'Itria, the land of Trulli, with its fascinating countryside. At the same time you will be introduced to the multicultural environment of temporary travelers and outlanders who decided to settle here for a (long) while.

Aide
At the moment, we are looking for help to get ready for winter. Specifically, we would like to set up a vegetable garden close to our house, start a new compost pile, fixing our bikes, organize the storage sheds and the woodshed, clear the ground of spring clippings, and prune some trees.
We might also need some help indoors, particularly during bad weather. There's also the chance to get involved with small events or workshops that we host over the weekends
And finally, if you like interacting with children, this can be the right chance to break two parents out of the "joyful burden" of childcare duties. -

Hébergement
You will stay in a private room with a twin bed and your own bathroom, independent but very close to the main building where we live.
Sharing food with our family is a joy we offer, never a chore. -

There is a lot to enjoy in Valle d'Itria: nature, events, festival, food. The coast is just about 30 minutes driving.
The area is not well served by public transport. If you are fit enough you will be free to use one of our bikes, especially to ride on the "ciclovia", a rural cycle path built over the main canal of Apulian Aqueduct. Yet, a car is highly recommended, especially during winter. -

You will have a private space with stable internet connection or you can use a shared working room with tables and boards.

There is plenty of space to park your camper van but no possibility to dump neither grey nor black waters. You can use either an outdoor toilet and the bathroom of the room where we usually host volunteers.
