Description
We own a beautiful property in rural Italy, in a remote, natural part of the south of Tuscany. The area is known for Etruscan history, natural hot springs, mountains, horse riding, hiking, mountainbiking and its beautiful serenity.
In the midst of this paradise, we own a 2ha farmstead. As romantic as this sounds, it's a lot of work! We haven't been there for a year now, as we had to move to the city for the birth of our baby Boris. This June, we will return to our lovely home, and we need your help with getting things back on track.
Thomas is a Dutchman who is a self-taught carpenter and gardener. Ex hospitality veteran and business owner, these days he spends his working hours fixing things around the house, building new furniture or outdoor areas, setting up the food-garden and exploring alternative ways of living. He's interested in regeneration, permaculture, community living, culinary arts and music. This year he's hosting his first retreats (sailing, yoga, mushrooms) and he's always keen to share his knowledge.
Waleria is of Russian/Ukrainian origin, grew up in Berlin. Her work in social sustainability took her on many travels around the world. She now works as a remote consultant for human rights and a researcher, focused on the energy transition and international supply chains. Waleria is an enthusiastic dancer of Tango Argentino with a passion for all things movement: yoga, pilates, Gyrotonics. She loves photography, good food, holistic health, meditation and deep talks around a cup of tea.
We both became parents very recently to our very sweet baby Boris.
We are both non-drinkers, and we live healthy. For us that means working out, eating organic and natural food (we are not vegetarians though), meditating daily, laughing and joking, chilling and working passionately. We love a good party now and then, enjoy chilling by the fire and cook lavish meals for friends.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
We are in central Tuscany, in a part that is older and less popular then the Tuscany you see in the pretty pictures. Although the land around is beautifull and rural, there aren't as many touristic things to do here as you might expect from Tuscany. The area is rural, full of wildlife, clean air, rivers, olive trees and more. The biggest cultural exchange you will have, will be the one with nature. On the other hand, we are blessed with nearby natural hotsprings, which serve the double function of a meeting spot for locals. We like to hang out there once a week, and meet new people.

Tasks to do in the house when it's rainy are, but are not limited to: painting, refurbishing furniture, cooking, cleaning, crafting and babysitting.
Most of the work will be outside though, and will include: forest work, planting seeds, harvesting, trimming grass, construction, maintaining and collecting eggs from chicken, restoring fences, building a barn, chopping wood etcetera.
All the future produce will be for our own consumption.Langues

We would love to learn better Italian and in exchange we can teach you some English.Hébergement
We have several options for accommodation. One is in our glamping tent, fully equipped with beds and an outdoor toilet. Another is to stay in our mobile home. If there is space, you can stay in our house but whenever our family visits (which can be often) you will need to make space for them. In summer, you can also decide to put up a hammock and sleep in the forest or near the alpacas, which we highly recommend doing at least once!
Downstairs we have a living room, Walerias office and a fully equipped kitchen where we can cook our meals.Autres infos...
There is no local transport, so you will either have to rely on us for transportation, or borrow one of our bicycles to go your own way. The closest village with a restaurant is 3 min away by car. A village with shops and the breathwork community is 8 km away (uphill). Recommended is bringing your own means of transport, but if that's not an option, we are happy to discuss this with you.

The activities were focused on the cared of the land to embellish it with some construction, to prepare it for the alpacas, to grow food.. so we had all the space to be creative!
