Description
Hello. I am Neli. I am the third generation owner of a two decares (2000 square meters) family farm. The farm is 25 km from Plovdiv, an ancient city built around seven hills, and the second biggest city in Bulgaria.
I am a Doctor of Philosophy and taught for many years in Bulgaria and Australia. I am now retired and dedicating my time to fulfilling my dream of bringing the family farm back to life.
Workaway jobs include and are not limited to:
-Planting and maintaining ornamental and edible garden and park.
-Updating and renovating the four bedroom house my grandfather built.
-Establishing an outdoor lounging area.
-Updating two water wells on the property.
-Putting a watering system in garden.
-Cleaning out and organizing four additional farm buildings.
-Building tables and chairs.
-Repairing clay walls.
-Sharing cooking and cleaning up responsibilities.
--Experienced carpenters appreciated!!

Travellers will enjoy nature and a quiet and peaceful environment. They will learn about Bulgarian culture and cuisine, and horticulture. Depending on the season, travellers will eat organic seasonal fruits and vegetables.

Aide
Workaway guests are expected to work five hours daily for five days and includes lunch and dinner. Breakfast and meals on days off are travellers' responsibility. Two grocery stores are available in the village within a 10 minute walk.
Workaway jobs include and are not limited to:
-Plant and maintain ornamental and edible garden and park.
-Update and renovate the four bedroom house my grandfather built.
-Paint walls.
-Strip old paint from window frames and repaint.
-Establish an outdoor lounging area.
-Update two water wells on the property.
-Put a watering system in garden.
-Clean out and organize four additional farm buildings.
-Build tables and chairs.
-Repair clay walls.
-Share cooking and clean up responsibilities.
--Experienced carpenters appreciated!!
Please note that both parties are free to terminate our Workaway agreement should we feel it is not a good fit.

Hébergement
Three bedrooms available. One with a double bed and two with single beds. Two of the rooms have recently been painted. You can also pitch your tent on the property. As this is an older home, only one shared bathroom available.

Public transport is available to and from Plovdiv twice a day, including weekends. If needed, I am available to pickup Workawayers in Plovdiv. If you come into Sofia and I am in town, I can also pick you up and we will drive to the farm together.
Plovdiv is the second largest city in Bulgaria and said to be one of the oldest cities in Europe. It has many attractions including the Ancient Theater, Historical Museum, Ancient Stadium, Ethnographic Museum, Tsar Simeon's Garden and more. There are over 200 archeological sites to explore.
Hisarya is a small modern resort town known for its remains of the ancient Roman city of Diocletianopolis. Over 20 mineral hot springs are available as well.
Pavel Banya is another small town famous for its mineral springs.
