Description
Hi! My partner Greg and I run a voluntary NGO focused on marine conservation-ask us for our web link , with a focus on sharks, skates and rays in Malta. We live in a rented house-which is also the headquarters of our NGO - We try to separate the house between the organisation and its work and the home. Living in the house we have 5 beautiful cats, 2 energetic terrapins and some frogs living outside in the garden. We share it with 2 interns working with our NGO, who are based on the ground floor.
We appreciate young people and their enthusiasm,BUT AS WE HOST UNIVERSITY INTERNS ALL YEAR ROUND,WE ARE IDEALLY LOOKING FOR A PERSON OR COUPLE OVER 35/ 40 YEARS OF AGE.
You'll be welcome to spend time with us and help us to take care of our creatures, the garden, the house and when we travel to visit our elderly parents abroad, in Italy or the UK. We'll be happy to offer you accommodation in a single room which can act as a double room, with a shared bathroom with Greg and me on the first floor. -

Malta is an attractive destination for people who like diving and exploring prehistoric archaeological sites. Being an NGO we have several contacts with a variety of local NGO about conservation.
Greg is a teacher of English to foreigners and Erika is a teacher of Italian to foreigners, we'll be happy to help you out if you want to learn a new language! -
Aide
We need a trustworthy person who can take care of our 5 cats (who are all neutered, microchipped and vaccinated), our terrapins and our frogs AT LEAST FOR 1 MONTH, BETTER FOR 2 MONTHS a. As well as keeping the house generally clean, although we are ALL (INCLUDING INTERNS) responsible for our own personal spaces.
Our creatures (5 cats,2 terrapins and 7 frogs) are our priority.
That would be perfect if during your stay with us you could:
make sure that our cats have quality playing time all together, that their bowls are always topped up with water and that their litter trays are always clean,
feed the terrapins once a day and clean their filter once a week,
make sure that terrapins' tank is clean,frogs' puddles are clean and topped up;
plants outside in the garden are watered using the water from the well.
Obviously Greg and I will do the same tasks regularly, you won't be left to do these tasks every time!
Furthermore, you're more than welcome to join our NGO's activities if you want and if you're interested in our project.
Our 2 interns at home usually make their meals (sometimes they're vegans, vegetarian or/and pescatarian so they have different food habits) but we can provide basic ingredients for you in order to cook whatever you like. -

A double bedroom (with a shared bathroom with Greg and me ) on the first floor.
Sockets in Malta are the same as standard UK 3 pin- sockets
The house is a no smoking house and people only smoke in the garden.
We try to be aware of water consumption as water is a precious gift from nature so we try to minimise its consumption when washing up and having showers.
We usually collect organic waste for our compost box in the garden. -

The house is in a quiet residential area with local amenities within walking distance in San Gwann.

Rita was attentive to each cat’s needs, making sure they were well-fed, comfortable, and given plenty of affection. Our two terrapins were also very well looked after, with their care routines followed perfectly.
