Description
A rural location- Farmland, some 20kms from Cornwall, On., Canada. Unfortunately there is no local transportation, so you will collected from the train/bus station.
There is train (VIA) & bus service (Megabus) to Montreal(1hr), Toronto (5hrs). Bus service to Ottawa is only twice a week.!
Our family residence for the past 47 years. -I am a retired educator and have been a widower for the past seven years. Taught Elementary, Secondary and University for 42 years. 76 years young.
My four adult children & their children visit and friends are frequent visitors.
Time to contemplate the next step on the journey. Initially I plan to downsize and minimize and then take to the road in my beloved and trusted "Maggie, a 24ft. RV/ Mobile Home. Eager to explore more of Canada - both East Coast and Central, before heading to settle on the West Coast.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Life in rural, eastern Ontario, though somewhat isolated, is nonetheless active and enriching. Many local points of interest, and proximity to Canada's major Eastern Cities- Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto is exciting. Cornwall, On. is a mere 5 minutes from the U.S. border.
As much as possible we try to be self-sufficient. Never a shortage of interesting projects, building, repairs (plumbing/electricity and our wood shop and workshop areas are extensive. A long list of volunteers have found the atmosphere interesting and challenging.Aide
Help with the monster "downsizing & clean-up" project. Time to work on an accumulation of some 45 years of accumulated history and life.
There is always on-going grounds & facility maintenance, brush clearing, fence line clearing, tree felling and inevitably, machinery maintenance. Maintenance of garden- flower beds - watering systems -swimming pool.
Outside painting, etc. - milling logs - Seasonal activities- Maple Syrup Production - Vegetable & Apple harvest.
Pretty laid back. No absolute fixed routines. Enjoying life and keeping the place ship-shape.
Light housework, cleaning, and shared cooking.Langues parlées

Want to use a bike. We have some. And, two e-bikes. Fun. Long Sault Parkway is an interesting ride. Hydro Ontario's Saunder's Dam/Hydro Station is an interesting spot, as is Upper Canada Village and the surrounding areas.
Time off can be as interesting as you want it to be. Time-on is "fun".
Our schedule is pretty laid-back, and has to be fun and a learning experience. Lots of space for creative thinking and developing a special project.
Previous helpers have joined me in the R.V. on trips through the U.S. to the West Coast, down to Florida and New Orleans, Toronto, Niagara, Montreal and Quebec City and whale watching off the Saguenay.
I enjoy "relax", good conversation, a wide range of music and literature, an informative Netflix program, and the opportunity to learn about your adventures and stories. I like to share in an atmosphere of trust and spontaneity, of happiness and mutual respect. I hope to feel that my life has been enriched by your presence, participation and contribution and that I will have contributed to yours.Informations complémentaires

It was a great pleasure to have Grégoire for two weeks at the farm at the end of July.
