Cultural exchange is at the heart of our project. Volunteers have the opportunity to connect with local Japanese residents through English conversation classes, community events, and everyday life in Hiraizumi. We encourage everyone to share their own language, traditions, food, music, and customs while learning about Japanese culture in return.

Our community events bring together people from different countries to exchange ideas, celebrate cultural diversity, and build lasting friendships. Volunteers are welcome to introduce their home country's culture through presentations, games, cooking, or other creative activities.

Living in our sharehouse also provides a unique cultural experience, where volunteers, travelers, and local community members interact daily, share meals, and learn from one another. Whether you're exploring Hiraizumi's historic temples, participating in local festivals, or simply spending time with our team, you'll gain an authentic experience of life in rural Japan while making meaningful connections with people from around the world.

Our project can be a great fit for digital nomads who enjoy balancing remote work with meaningful cultural exchange. Our volunteer schedule is generally part-time, allowing free time for personal projects and remote work outside of scheduled activities. The main responsibilities include English teaching, community events, sharehouse support, and occasional social media or marketing tasks. We appreciate volunteers who communicate their working hours in advance so we can coordinate schedules smoothly. Our sharehouse offers a comfortable environment with Wi-Fi, making it suitable for remote work. Hiraizumi is a quiet and peaceful town, ideal for those looking for a slower pace of life while experiencing authentic Japanese culture. We simply ask that volunteers remain committed to their agreed responsibilities and actively participate in the community during their scheduled hours.
