Our Organic Farm is a place of amazing biodiversity which has been designed and built with a focus on regenerative farming practices and permacultural principles.
My mate Nick (NZ 40yo), my life partner Marie (German 22yo) and i, Josh (Aus 32yo) have recently teamed up and are leasing some land at this beautiful and well respected 5th generation family farm.
The family has been farming here for over 100 years and now we have the honour to continue the late and great Rod May's journey of sustainable and regenerative farming practices.
A close friend to David Holmgren (Permaculture co-originator), Rod May has left an amazingly positive impact on the local and surrounding communities and was one of Australia’s ecological farming pioneers. He transitioned the family farm into one of the first commercial farms to be certified “organic” with the National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia. With his holistic thinking, and decades of regenerative practices he has created a truly magical farm filled with life and beauty.
However, our organic farming journey has just begun. With a wide variety of backgrounds, skills and experience, the new team at the farm is very much aligned in our values, ethics and goals. We wish to produce nutritious, tasty, affordable, organic produce using the methods Rod had developed over his lifetime.
We are leasing one hectare of a field paddock to grow seasonal vegetables, one large greenhouse to grow tomatoes in and have access to a range of large fruit and nut orchards. Our primary mode of distribution is through the local farmers markets but we will be establishing a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) system over the coming months.

We are looking for open minded people who have a good work ethic and who are keen to learn regenerative farming practices, permaculture and interested in getting to know the ins and outs of an organic market gardening. We would love some help with the day to day tasks such as building, seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, packing etc.

We can offer accomodation in the form of an apartment built in the upstairs of the packing shed (The Loft). Nick is currently occupying one of the three bedrooms. It has a bathroom, kitchen and a large chill out lounge room with a spectacular view. We will supply all of your meals and some extra bonuses such as a fews beers from time to time in exchange for 4-6 hours of work 4/5 days a week (maximum). As we all appreciate good food and as Nick has spent his career as a brilliant chef we are sure you will not be disappointed with the meals.
Between the three of us we have many years of adventure seeking in the form of backpacking, hitchhiking and volunteering so we believe we can relate to your situation or at least understand it.
Our aim is to educate and inspire just as we have been before from hosts and fellow travellers from all over this wonderful planet of ours. We work hard but also rest hard and we would never ask anyone to do more then they think is fair.
