  Description

  We are a friendly semi-retired couple (Mike, 66 English/Irish, Celia, 65, Canadian/German) living in Velez-Blanco, a lovely small town in the mountains in Andalucia, Spain. We previously lived in the UK and have been living in Spain since last September. We are intending to make Spain our permanent home and have just purchased an old property with potential to renovate. Celia is an English teacher and would be happy to give you a daily English lesson (of course you would have the opportunity to practise English with us and Spanish with the locals).
  
  We have rented a beautiful three bedroom apartment in the centre of Velez-Blanco, 2 minutes away from the property we are renovating. You will have your own bedroom and share a bathroom.

  Celia is a CELTA qualified English teacher with several years of experience so this might be an ideal opportunity for you to practice your English. She would be willing to give you a daily English lesson (can teach legal and business English as well as general English) or basic German or French.
  
  Southern Spain enjoys a Mediterranean climate with long, hot sunny days and cooler mountain nights. The region's diverse landscapes range from stunning beaches to rugged mountains to picturesque white villages. The favourable climate and breath-taking scenery make it an ideal destination for outdoor activities like hiking, sunbathing, or simply strolling through charming streets. We would be happy to help you explore the region!

  Aide

  We are looking for an energetic individual or couple with a passion to assist in the renovation of an historic village centre house in the small and lovely town of Velez Blanco, located in the heart of the Los Velez National Park in Almeria (Andalucia). We are able to accommodate long or short stays of a week or more.
  
  Work involves preparing the property for the work, decorating and cleaning, this might include renovating the old tiled floors, removing flaked or damaged paint, filling cracks etc.
  
  We would also be happy to host someone who can make art work to put on the walls of our renovated property.
  
  We offer accomodation in our own home, a gorgeous house 50m away from the property we are renovating, where you will have your own bedroom and share some meals with us. We will provide food for the other meals. We like food from different countries and you're welcome to cook for us if you like!

  We are interested in improving our Spanish which is at a basic level. We would be happy to help you improve your English and we could help with basic German and French. Celia is an English teacher and would be happy to give you, say, an hour long English lesson a day in whatever area you require help with (grammar, vocab, speaking, reading, writing, listening). Of course you can practise your conversational English with both of us, and you can practise Spanish with the locals here!

  In Vélez Blanco, Almería, there are several attractions. There is a famous castle (Castillo de Vélez Blanco), a Renaissance fortress which is the town's main attraction. There's also an archaeological museum, a beautiful church, a lovely central square, a nearby natural park, and interesting rock formations.
  
  Southern Spain is a beautiful part of the world. There are of course lots of tourists during the summer season, but the weather is perfect and the food is great. The public transportation consists of buses (and there are airports in Murcia and Almeria). We would pick you up from the bus station/airport.
