Hello! Nacho and I are a warm, friendly, dynamic couple and have a lot of experience hosting paying guests and volunteers. Nacho is from Malaga and I am from Bermuda. We live on a beautiful farm in a forest in the stunningly beautiful Valle del Genal, an undiscovered gem south of Ronda in Andalusia. It is a privilege and honour for us to live here amongst such beautiful wildlife and trees and we have lots to do. As there are just the two of us, from time to time we need extra hands and hearts to help us out on different projects.

We are in our early fifties but are young at heart and still full of lots of enthusiam for life and its magic. I am a therapist and Nacho is a professional maitre d'hotel and chef and we host paying guests from all over the world to earn our living.

We have both been practicing yoga for years and try to live as consciously as possible in terms of the environment and place a lot of value on the relationships we create.

Nacho is local and speaks good English. We are both happy to share information about local Andalusian and Spanish culture, cuisine, architecture and history. We are interested in and practice permaculture and organic farming and bio-construction. The Valle del genal where we live in La Serrania de Ronda has the highest bio-diversity of flora in the whole of Europe. It is a very special and magical area.

We are interested in philosophy, spirituality and aim to leave the world a better place. We believe in service to others, kindness and compassion for all beings.

We are part of an international community of like-minded souls and there are usually a lot of social events we can take volunteers to. We love music, art, film, creativity generally and nature. We go to jam sessions and like to share the many beautiful spots around here for hiking and total immersion in nature.

Ronda, which is 40 minutes away, is Trip Adviser's Number One destination in Spain and is fascinating in terms of its history and beauty. There are many beautiful little villages nearby, rivers and the beach is 50 minutes away.

Hello!

We have been blessed to have received only amazing volunteers in the past and they have had fantastic experiences here and we are friends with them all. At the moment we are looking for volunteers for two different needs which we have...one which would be to start ideally as soon as possible and the second, more important one, for a couple ideally from approximately mid/end of January for one month in 2025.

My husband, Nacho, and I are looking for a strong, dynamic and hard- working helper to help us prepare an existing small building on our property in the woods to make it into a kitchen and small living room area for volunteers. It is a wonderful project but there are just two of us and we need some help! We hope to have this complete by Spring, 2025 and will be looking for experienced, mature volunteers from now until then.

We also have lots of outdoor work to do on our land as we have to prune 130 olive trees (usually in January) then need to chop wood, move it and prune other trees as well.

The second type of volunteering opportunity we are offering is this:

From mid/end of January to approximately the middle or end of February, we will be going away to Africa.

We are looking for two mature, extremely reliable, well-balanced, happy volunteers (a couple would be great), who can come and stay here and house sit our farm and take care of our two gorgeous, low-maintenance dogs and two beautiful, easy to care for cats as well as do some tasks for us around the farm including, if necessary, watering plants.

It would involve walking our dogs twice a day, feeding them twice a day and feeding the cats as well. They are very loving animals and really enjoy human company and affection. Please only get in touch if you are a genuine lover of animals as this is primordial for us.

We are only interested in hearing from you if you deeply love and respect nature, have previous experience of living in the countryside, know how to use a wood burning stove safely, adore animals, take care of other people's things (and yourself/ves!), are clean and tidy, practical, have a lot of common sense, are highly responsive in terms of communication and think you would really enjoy your time here.

PLEASE do NOT contact us if you do not fit these profiles as we get many requests which we cannot accept. We prefer generally NOT to receive families with small children as we live in a steep mountainous area and parents with young children would need to be constantly vigilant of their children. This is for everyone's safety and the smooth running of our different projects. We trust you understand this.

We usually do not receive volunteers here in the summer, at Easter and other main public holidays as we rent out all our spaces then to paying guests.

We are not in a position, at this point, to receive anyone who has addiction issues, any psychological disorders or serious health issues as we sometimes deal with these on the retreats we offer here and need our volunteers to be balanced and focussed so that we can do our work to optimally.

You can walk to the nearest village in 12 minutes from here where there is a supermarket, pharmacy, cafes etc..

We would ideally want to meet any potential volunteers in person in advance and would need a settling in period for at least 3 or 4 days before we leave.

Having a current Driver's Licence and your own vehicle would be a huge bonus.

We are happy for you to bring an animal if it is well-behaved and gets on well with people as well as with our dogs and cats. We do not want to host problematic or neurotic animals for the well-being of ours and that of our other guests who come here seeking peace and quietude. We hope you understand.
