    Description

A Community supported Agriculture (CSA) farm located in Bil’in village west of Ramallah. The farm is one acre of land used for planting seasonal vegetables and herbs, in addition to olive trees, citruses, a tropical section, a Mediterranean section, and an area experimenting with Syntropic farming (successional agroforestry). We also have a nursery, a greenhouse, a vermicompost and a composter.

Our mission is to contribute to liberation and resistance through increased food sovereignty and responsible living and consumption. We do this through Agroecology, marketing our products, encouraging volunteerism and providing a learning space for adults and children on regenerative living, including natural farming and building. We work closely with other farms and institutions in Palestine and elsewhere to share learning and experiences.

    The team:

The farm since its creation in 2016 by Babu and Mohammad (from Jerusalem and Gaza respectively) and until today has been a space that brought Palestinians from all over Palestine together, challenging its fragmentation and weaving a sense of community. Together we imagine and work towards a better world and liberation of both our Land and the self. The current team consists of six women, working full or part time, in addition to many Palestinian and international volunteers who are a very important part of our farm.

Our community consists of our current team – the hands cultivating the land, previous teams who worked at the farm and maintain connection to it, as well as our members who receive weekly baskets from us and share the risks with us. Our community at large is the welcoming and kind people of Bilin, other farmers in the area, in Palestine and elsewhere who share our mission and passion, and institutions that support learning for liberation and healthy inter-dependencies.

What to expect as a Volunteer:

We welcome volunteers from all over the world – to imagine, dream and help with us.

We welcome volunteers throughout the year, especially in the early summer and winter seasons, as work on the field increases. Tasks at the farm varies from seed germination, transplanting, maintenance, irrigation, weeding, preparation of raised beds, crop cultivation, seed collection, cleaning and cooking, in addition to assisting in other projects, such as natural building, carpentry medicinal herb production, fermentation and pickling, greening and forestation, and carrying out research on plants.

We offer modest accommodation. We have two separate rooms, one for females and one for males, vegetarian meals and above all a friendly atmosphere. limited Internet is available at the farm for important calls we recommend that you get an ‘’israeli’’ sim card if you want better connection

Please note that team members do not live at the farm neither sleep there the whole week. Some team members sleep there occasionally but volunteers sleep alone. If you have any concerns about this please let us know in advance.
