    About us

We have been running a CSA farm in Bil’in, Palestine since 2016. Our work has been an important connection that ties us to our land with an emphasis on collectively (re)creating our means of resistance. Reclaiming our space(s) of imagination aspiring to showcase a vision of a regenerative, just and independent future in Palestine.

    How the story began
The idea of establishing the Farm began when the co-founders one from Jerusalem and the other one from Gaza met by coincidence in Ramallah. Through in-depth discussions on Palestine’s agricultural and economic conditions, they envisioned a farming model that would reconnect people with the land—emphasizing chemical-free cultivation, preservation of local seeds, community involvement, and food self-sufficiency.
Their search for suitable land led them to Abu Alaa Mansour the landlord from the village of Bil’in, who generously offered them use of his land free of charge for five years, then extended it to as much as needed.

    The current team now:

Yara from Jerusalem, joined in 2018 and Raghad from Tulkarem in 2022. They are both managing the farm at the moment. Yara takes care of projects, popular education programs, research and development while Raghad handles all the day to day details of the field management and CSA production. The third member of the team is Majdi who does administrative work and helps the team connect the dots with office work, coordination and communication tasks. Along the core team we have members who work on a seasonal basis helping with the harvest, workshops cooking, and infrastructure mainly from the village of Bil’in.

Our community consists of our current team – the hands cultivating the land, previous team members who worked at the farm and maintain connection to it, as well as our members who receive weekly baskets from us and share the risks with us. Our community at large is the welcoming and kind people of Bilin, other farmers in the area, in Palestine and elsewhere who share our mission and passion, and institutions that support learning for liberation and healthy inter-dependencies.

Since day one volunteers local as well as international have been an essential pillar of the growth on the farm. The team of the farm is small and thus the support of this community is always needed and appreciated.

We host volunteers throughout the year from September till the end of May, especially during September, October and November, as work on the field intensifies. Tasks at the farm varies from seed germination, transplanting, maintenance, irrigation, weeding, preparation of raised beds, crop cultivation, seed saving, cleaning and cooking, in addition to assisting in other projects, such as natural building, carpentry medicinal herb production, fermentation and pickling, greening and forestation, and carrying out research on plants.

    Accommodation and facilities:
We offer modest accommodation. We have two separate rooms, one for females and one for males, vegetarian meals and above all a friendly atmosphere. The farm is equipped with hot water, electricity, and wifi in some areas. In case the rooms are full we offer camping equipment.

Please note that team members do not live at the farm nor sleep there the whole week. Some team members sleep there occasionally but volunteers sleep alone. If you have any concerns about this please let us know in advance and we can discuss alternatives.

    Notes to consider:
We encourage volunteer to arrive at the farm between Saturday and Wednesday so they can have a proper introduction by the core team and easy transportation
We prefer volunteers to stay more than 2 weeks.
We expect volunteers to work 5 days a week.
We reuse the water from shower and sink, only organic or natural soap is allowed to be used
