The property is located in the village of Rossnaree, 4 km from the Slane, a very nice little city . The house is old-fashioned with lots of interesting details from the past. The accommodation was excellent, I was alone in the room which is normally issued to visitors. I had a good internet connection in my room. There was always a plenty of foods and hosts procured me everything I proposed (vegetarian). I was able to prepare food on myself..
Aisling has two amazing grandchildren who sometimes visited her and I enjoyed to talk with them. I also enjoyed the company of Dinka, absolutely the nicest dog I’ve ever seen.
I came in mid-April and I was lucky with the Irish weather. While the basic characteristics of the Irish weather is variability and rains, most of days were partly sunny with a few very sunny and slightly cloudy days
The environment is very beautiful, the house is located above the beautiful river Boyne and on the other side of the river you can see famous archaeological sites from the Neolithic period. 3.It was a surprise to hear that they were shocked at some food being left out had they not had the idea themselves to put it back into the fridge ,

… read more into the fridge (also without a cover) the next day, when we were asked to eat it for lunch. Not much consideration was given to leaving (edible) food for us; our last day there it was suggested that we eat bread and butter for lunch. The nearest grocery store is in Drogheda (13km away), so buying our own food was not an option without a car. The water out of the tap is filled with dirt, and we had to borrow a bicycle to go into the nearest town (approx. 2km) to purchase bottled water, which, because Slane is so small, costed two euros per 1.5 liter bottle. Our host was rather disorganized (which probably was tied to her not shopping for food to feed us) and we often had a difficult time knowing when we have days off and when we should work. Problems aside, there are some lovely people living on the grounds, and there is a lot to see in the area. If you are willing to bring/buy your own water and perhaps even food, and are laid back and super flexible with your schedule, then this would be a great experience.
