Description
Our farm is a passion project of Andy and Tulsi. Andy bought the property in 2006 and they have been working to together on the project together since 2013. Both artists themselves, you will find them working on multiple projects at once. Tulsi is also working on her Masters of Divinity at a Buddhist College in Portland with the eventual goal of chaplaincy. She is the lead chef and business planner, working diligently to create sustainable models at the farm for people and revenue. Andy is passionately working on painting, metal, installation pieces and building & landscape projects thought out the week often with friends and volunteers by his side.
Offering opportunities for art, agriculture, ritual and community celebrations are some of the hallmarks of the art farm. Several of the large installation art pieces from the farm travel to festivals and art installation projects have gone out into the community. We have been hosting artists and volunteers both as day users and over night guests from the beginning. There are artists and volunteers that are so consistently involved the farm offerings and sharing their expertise! Our 501c3 is privately funded through revenue that comes from renting space to artists in our old chicken barns at a very affordable rate and helps to subsidize our projects and programming.
Metal, wood, glass, tile, and soon to be silkscreening shop are some of the play spaces we have to create in.
Developing our agricultural model in the last few years with 27 orchard trees from the local scion society to create a fruit tree library as well as a future fruitcrop to be developed into products.
Perhaps you will come and decide you want to join us too! -

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
• Art: Wednesdays and Sundays are art days, when our glass, metal, and wood shops are running, along with several cozy studios. Come learn, make, and be around working artists.
• Farming and land care: hands-on experience with organic gardening, orchard planting and tending, and riparian restoration.
• Contemplative life: we're a vegetarian, drug- and alcohol-free interfaith sanctuary. Our meditation and healing arts studio can be reserved in 1–2 hour blocks, and our new and full moon community saunas with lots of singing are a highlight.
• Community: shared lunches on work days, occasional shared meals and social events, and a creative community that's been gathering here for twenty years.
• Autonomy: a lighter workweek is intentional. We want you to have real time to explore, rest, and work on what you're passionate about. -
Aide
We're in full project mode, with something for every interest and skill level:
• Garden and orchard: bed preparation, planting, and a new orchard going in
• Land restoration: willow planting along waterways and blackberry removal
• Fencing and building: ongoing construction of farm operations spaces and art studios
• Spring painting: painting and whitewashing buildings
• Shared spaces: cleaning and caring for the commons and art studios
• Community saunas: helping host our new and full moon saunas
• Animal care: our pigs, chickens, guinea hens, and cats are well cared for but always welcome extra snuggles and treats
We try to match projects to each volunteer's interests. Some days several projects run at once, so there's plenty to choose from. Other days everyone pitches in together on one big push.
We're looking for strong, hardy people who know how to dress for outdoor work in Oregon weather. Think wool layers and good rain gear. Please bring your own; we're happy to point you to local shops in Veneta for anything you're missing.
Hours expected:
About 20 hours a week, including shared chores. Most work happens on our big work days, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with a big vegetarian lunch together. There is one more short session, either on another day or added to those days. That leaves Sunday through Wednesday largely free for exploring, contemplation, or your own creative project. -

We are both interested in learning more Spanish. Tulsi will start studying Tibetan in the next year or two and would be interest in this language as well. -
Hébergement
You'll stay in your own beautiful, well-appointed cabin with a comfy bed, a writing table, and good lighting for reading at night. Heated, Linens provided.
Shared facilities, a short walk from the cabins:
• A beautifully tiled shower and sauna house
• A separate tiled composting toilet house
• The "Chickitchen," our sweet little volunteer kitchen
• A meditation and healing arts studio, reservable in 1–2 hour blocks
• Many art studios
Everything is kept to a high standard of cleanliness, and we ask everyone to help keep it that way.
Laundry: one day a week in the main farmhouse, 10am–6pm.
Wi-Fi: yes - but sometimes you have to find good reception (the auxiliary kitchen, the wellness studio and some of the cabins.
Food:
Both kitchens are vegetarian, and the main farmhouse kitchen is also gluten-free. We often cook dairy-free, with some dairy treats on the side.
• Lunch: big shared vegetarian lunches on work days
• Breakfast and dinner: the Chickitchen is stocked with staples to cook for yourself: organic grains, rice, beans, spices, cooking oils, and plenty of coffee and tea
• From the farm: fresh eggs and greens from the garden
• Extras: we often share additional meals and gluten- and dairy-free baked goods from the main kitchen during the week
Please let us know about any allergies or dietary needs before you arrive.
Our house agreements:
• Drug and alcohol-free: we're a sanctuary model, so no intoxicants on site, including cannabis. Coffee and tea are very welcome and we have an ample supply! If you'd like to enjoy a cider or visit one of our local wineries, go for it; just don't bring it home with you.
• Vegetarian: please don't bring meat onto the property (there are great restaurants in Eugene and Springfield - if you need a burger during your stay - go explore).
• Smoking tobacco or vaping has one location (no cannabis) and smoke breaks cannot interfere with work days. -
Autres infos...
Before you apply:
• Transportation: you'll need your own vehicle of some sort (motorcycle or electric bike can work). We're rural, and public transit won't get you here with any ease as it only runs a few times a day.
• Health insurance: proof of coverage is required.
• Minimum stay: one month (two to three preferred for a full experience!)
• Number of volunteers: 2-4 (we often also have artist in residence here - so upward of 6-7people)
• References: we're happy to share names and contact info for past volunteers. Just ask!
• Getting here: nearest airport is Eugene (EUG); also Amtrak to Eugene
• The 600 acres next door: we border the historic Oregon Country Fair grounds, with over 600 acres of walking trails that make our little farm feel much bigger.
• Eugene, 25 minutes away: a river with bike trails running through town, lots of hiking, great music, and a really fun dance scene.
• The coast is one hour away, and the mountains and Portland are a couple of hours. We keep guidebooks on hand to help you plan day trips and overnights. -

Lady Cricket (8 ans)
Second more feral kittty. She was found living under a cargo container in Eugene. She is deaf and a little cray-cray. Adorable and because of her uniques and unruly attitude towards the other cats has seperate sleeping arrangements (although Fabio seems to be bringing her around when he can tolerate her hissing and growling).
Felix the elusive (4 ans)
This is Fabio’s brother and also a love, but he is his own boss and lives more than part time next door. He comes around for snuggles and to let us know he is still a lovinator.
Rosabel (3 ans)
This is one our most feral (they were all originally feral) cats and she is learning to ask for snuggles but still a big skiddish.
Fabio the fabulous (4 ans)
Fabio is our number one lovinator.
Otter the elder (12 ans)
Our sweet boy is one big snuggler.
Two elderly pet pigs - Pickle and Pepper (10 ans)
Grumpy but very cute.
22 hens, two rooster and 8 Guinea hens (3 ans)
Our hens are happy and give us eggs. The roosters snuck in on the last batch but seem to be behaving! The guineas has a successful brood last year and have 6 children that are now as big as the parents - they all stick together.
