We are a family owned farm on a 53 acres property comprised of pristine forest and fertile arable lands. Come work with us to develop an alternative, farm-life experience at our organic (non-certified) farm and get to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding Nature!

During your stay you will learn a diverse set of skills, from market garden farming to wood-frame construction and many other communal infrastructure projects. You'll also learn to take care of our chickens. They do a great job helping us managing invading species and improving our soil, thanks to our chicken tractor. And, mostly, you will learn about community living, how to share the space with others and how to hold each other up!
There are weekly yoga classes held here on the farm for those willing to join.
You will experience a full immersion into community and farm-life alongside our long-term residents. You will participate in the daily farm or construction tasks. You can chose between two schedules:
- 6 hours a day for 5 days a week
- 30 hours spread the way you like or as needed on the farm over the week.
Please note that the work hours exclude breaks, breakfast, lunch and dinner hours.
COVID: We follow the current COVID protocols, anyone travelling from within BC must get a test and quarantine for 3 days or until the results come back. Folks travelling here from outside the province must quarantine for 2 weeks in BC before arriving at the farm.
Experience in farming and carpentry is an asset! However we welcome people who want to learn how to farm and experience community living. Typical daily tasks could involve weeding, planting, harvesting, cleaning, building farm infrastructure or helping with the many construction projects. Be also aware that farming or building can sometimes be physically demanding so please make sure you are fit and ready for it!
In exchange of your help, all your meals will be provided (the community shares in the preparation, cooking and cleaning up), you will have your own campsite with tent + mattress (please bring your own sleeping bag) and you will have access to our indoor and outdoor kitchens, bathhouse, laundry and living spaces. There is also a farm computer at your disposal and WiFi.
Please bring only biodegradable soap and toothpaste as we try to keep our impact on Nature as little as possible. And you'll need to provide a proof of travel or health insurance (in advance or when you arrive on site) and will be required to sign a waiver upon arrival.
We are located on beautiful Salt Spring Island, across the road from the ocean and walking distance from the quaint Village of Fulford where you will find the ferry, a convenience store, restaurants, a liquor store, a post office, high speed wireless internet, etc. The bus line connecting to Ganges is easily accessible down the road.
We have trails on the property (ideal for mushroom picking and bird watching) and there are many options nearby to go swimming (Spirit Lake, Burgoyne Bay, Fulford Harbour, Ruckle Park) or hiking trails (Mt. Maxwell, Reginald Hill, Mt. Erskine).
Please, no cigarette smokers and no pets. At this time our kitchens are not yet suited to accommodate those individuals with severely restrictive diets. Most of our meals are vegetarian and fresh farm produce.
If this excites you or you have any questions, please get in touch with us!
