    Description

Hi, I’m Nath. I’ve travelled as a Workawayer myself and now live full time on the family farm I caretake in rural Victoria.

This is a private homestead, not a commercial farm. I’m in the early stages of restoring the place and bringing the land back to life, with the intention of creating a safe, grounded, and creative space for people, animals, and the environment.

The heart of the space is community, creativity, and healing. I am in the process of setting up things like breathwork, sharing circles, creative projects, connection to land, and gentle wellbeing practices. These are offered freely and Workawayers are welcome to join in if they choose, but there is no obligation. Sometimes people who come through these spaces later choose to work with me privately as coaching or horse therapy clients, but those sessions are separate and not connected to Workaway.

I am also an artist and creative, and a big part of life here is making things. There is space for painting, drawing, writing, music, building, sculpting, and experimenting with ideas. Workawayers are welcome to use and help shape these creative spaces, whether that is setting up studios, making art, creating outdoor gathering areas, or just sitting around a fire sharing stories and ideas.

On the land side, Workawayers will be involved in things like gardening, permaculture, animal care, property upkeep, small building projects, and helping bring the place back into a healthy, thriving state. This is hands on, practical, and shared, not production based or commercial.

In the future I may also offer private horse therapy sessions from the farm. These are separate from Workaway and are client based. Volunteers will not be part of delivering paid sessions, but there may be opportunities to help with horse care and training, and sometimes to observe or learn from sessions if the client is comfortable with that.

The overall aim is to create a warm, grounded place where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves, the land, and each other, and explore both practical skills and creative expression. I had some really meaningful experiences through Workaway and I would love to offer a space where others can have something similar, while also being part of building something alive and meaningful here.

  • Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre

    Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre

This is a shared exchange rather than a one sided arrangement, and I see learning as something that flows both ways.

I am happy to share a wide range of practical and lived skills, including local history, wildlife and conservation knowledge, horse and animal handling, permaculture principles, regenerative agriculture, general farm and building skills, Auslan, and creative and arts based skills. Just as importantly, I am excited to learn from the skills, cultures, ideas, and experiences that Workawayers bring with them.

A big part of what I am creating here is a space that is shaped by the people who pass through it. I want this to be a place where Workawayers can leave their mark, through ideas, creativity, knowledge, and the energy they bring. Whether that is helping design a garden, setting up a creative space, sharing a story from home, or starting a new project, I love when the place grows in response to the people who are part of it.

There will be things like sharing circles, breathwork, creative sessions, and gentle wellbeing practices happening here, and people are welcome to join in if they feel drawn to them. In the same way, there may be opportunities over time to be around horses and the therapeutic work that develops, but all of this is optional and unfolds naturally rather than being a set program.

What matters most to me is that this feels like a place people can belong to, not just stay at. A place where you can contribute, be seen, and feel part of something that continues even after you leave. I would love for people to feel that they can always come back, or stay connected, and that this is a space that grows through real relationships.

This is being built on mutual respect, shared learning, and genuine exchange, not hierarchy or pressure, but people walking alongside each other for a while.

The farm is in the early stages of being brought back to life, so the work here is varied, hands on, and shared. The focus is on working together, learning as we go, and creating spaces that feel warm, functional, and alive.

    Projects and tasks may include:

    • Setting up a communal area in the old dairy, including lining walls with tin, painting, and creating a practical, welcoming shared space
    • General painting inside the house and in outdoor or farm buildings
    • Gardening and re establishing garden areas using permaculture principles
    • General land care such as weeding, checking water troughs, basic maintenance, and tidying spaces as they come back into use
    • Caring for livestock including horses, sheep, and goats, such as feeding, moving, observing, and day to day care
    • Helping with creative projects as they arise, including making spaces more comfortable, expressive, and inviting
    • Ongoing general maintenance and practical jobs around the farm

I will be there working alongside you on most tasks, offering guidance, support, and skill sharing where needed. You do not need experience in everything. What matters most is being willing to learn, take initiative, and be part of something shared rather than working alone.

This is about building something together and enjoying the process, not rushing or pushing through tasks like a job.

  • Hébergement

    Hébergement

Accommodation on the farm is simple, comfortable, and flexible.

There are two spare rooms available in the house for individuals. Both have air conditioning and internet access, which works well for people who need to stay connected or do some online work while they are here.

There is also a caravan with an annex set up on the property, as well as plenty of space for campervans. Campervan spots have access to power.

The farm is spacious and quiet, so there is room to have your own space as well as come together when it feels right.

Food is supplied by the Workawayer. I am happy to share some meals together when it makes sense, and we can split costs for shared meals. There is flexibility around this, with clear and open communication being the key.

    Autres infos...

The farm is located in central Victoria, with easy access to a range of towns, events, and seasonal work opportunities. There is plenty to explore both locally and further afield.

The surrounding area has a lot of seasonal and casual work available throughout the year. This includes farm and harvest work, vineyards, orchards, hospitality, events, fencing, gardening, and general labour with local businesses and farms in nearby towns. This work is in the wider region, not on this property.

I travel around the state fairly often and am happy to show people around when it lines up. This might include trips to rodeos, music festivals, local events, or exploring towns and regional areas together. I also enjoy getting out into the bush, visiting lesser known spots, and sharing local knowledge about the land and surrounding area.

Echuca is about 40 minutes away, Bendigo around 20 minutes, and Heathcote roughly 30 minutes. All three towns have cafes, markets, events, and a steady flow of seasonal work across different industries.

In terms of transport, I am happy to help with lifts where I can, especially for supplies, town visits, or events. There is also public transport from town, with both bus and train services running to Echuca, Bendigo, and through to Melbourne.

This makes it easy to enjoy the quiet of farm life while still being connected to work opportunities, community, and culture
