This is a new project to create a small medieval village in the heart of the Eure et Loir région of France. Our aim is to restore a small wooded area to its former beauty and incorporate a kitchen garden. Our goal is to build a dwelling using medieval methods such as lathe and cob,, shingle roof using our trees and materials found on site.

We are just an hour from Paris and 30 minutes from Chartres cathedral. Surrounded by history and Norman culture.
We are especially happy to meet students specialising in historical building practices, archeology, medieval history and related subjects. All are welcome. No experience necessary we will teach you the basics. We will be cutting trees to convert into lumber. Digging for clay for cob making and using many traditional hand tools.

I regularly teach English to French students.
There is a warm comfortable campervan, 2 small caravans and plenty of space for tents. Toilets are composters and showers are rudimentary...as it would have been in the 15th century.
We eat mostly vegetarian with occasional meat when available. Vegans are expected to prepare ownfood
Close by there are a myriad of activities and we can take you to larger towns if you don't have transport.
