  Description

  Hello! I'm Marcello, a Sardinian who has found his way back to the charming village of Sorradile, nestled beside the serene Omodeo Lake, after spending many years abroad. I identify as vegan and queer, and I share my cozy, rock-built home with my beloved dog, Keffir and sometimes with some friends. The house, though old, is filled with warmth and sits amidst a lovely small garden, providing a peaceful retreat that resonates with my love for a slow and nature-filled lifestyle.
  
  I am deeply passionate about food that I consider a huge tool for social transformation. I love fermenting and create excellent vegan cheeses and it's something I've been doing for the last 10 years.
  Living in a town with just 350 people, my life here is divided between many hours of work and little to no free time.
  Other friends live in the same village, some of them teaching yoga and others are musicians. This area, like many rural areas in the island, has experienced significant depopulation over the years. However, I believe in renewal and possibilities, striving to invigorate our rural town with new people, new energy and opportunities.
  
  I cherish the rurality and I enjoy my solo time, the connection with nature, and the slower pace that this area offers.
  But I also love travelling abroad, organising events, partying, dancing, feeling vibrant and showing up in life with the people I love.
  I am always eager to connect with like-minded individuals who are curious, independent, open, honest, enthusiastic about living fully and open to experiences.
  
  My curiosity and wide range of interests have led me to gather many experiences along my path. However, I'm constantly open to unlearn, re-learn, re-invest and meeting unexpected different versions of myself that I would have never expected.

  Aide

  I am looking for: vegan, queer, motivated, responsible but most important independent individuals who are respectful and willing to engage in various tasks in my house. No prior experience is necessary for most of the tasks – just a willingness to learn and participate actively in our daily routines.
  
  What I Need Help With:
  Gardening: My small garden is one of my sanctuaries, and I need help maintaining and developing it. Whether you have a green thumb or are eager to learn, there’s always plenty to do – from planting to weeding, fixing some stuff and general upkeep.
  House Maintenance: Living in an old house means there’s always a hinge to fix or a wall that needs care. I’m looking for helpers who can assist with small repair works and renovations to keep the house cozy and functional.
  Whitewashing: To keep the house looking fresh and bright, I need help with painting and whitewashing. It’s a great way to transform the space and contribute to preserving the charm of my home.
  Food Preparation: Participating with me in creating our plant-based meals with excellent ingredients
  Event Assistance: From time to time, we host small free community events to promote queerness, rurality and vegan lifestyle. Assistance in organizing, setting up, and managing these events would be greatly appreciated.
  
  In exchange for your help, I offer accommodation in my cozy home, vegan meals and a chance to relax and chill.
  I'm very busy with work at the moment so this is a perfect setup for someone independent who loves nature and enjoys a rural lifestyle. I'm home just for lunch and dinners, the rest of the time I work nearby.

  This space is designed to provide you with the peace and comfort you need to fully enjoy your experience here. The room's modest decor and the gentle quiet of the house allow you to relax and reflect, making it a perfect spot for those who appreciate the beauty of simplicity and the value of peace. This room offers a personal sanctuary where you can recharge and rejuvenate.
  The house is old and needs to be fixed but it's also very charming and cozy.

  During your time off, you'll find that Sorradile and its surroundings offer plenty to explore and enjoy. This quaint town, nestled beside the expansive Omodeo Lake, provides a stunning backdrop for numerous outdoor activities. You can take leisurely walks along the lakeside, go hiking in the nearby hills to catch breathtaking panoramic views, or engage in bird watching and photography to capture the natural beauty of this serene landscape.
  
  For those interested in cultural experiences, the area is rich with history. You can visit ancient ruins and small museums that tell the story of Sardinia's past. The town itself, with its narrow, winding streets and traditional stone houses, exudes a charm that invites leisurely exploration.
  
  When you wish to venture further, the local transport options can take you to nearby cities and towns. Regular bus services are available, though they might be infrequent, reflecting the laid-back pace of life here. Having or renting a car is highly recommended since I don't have much free time at the moment, giving you more flexibility and allow you to visit other notable sights on the island, such as the beautiful beaches of the Sardinian coast (40min drive), vibrant local markets, and other historical sites.
