    Description

My name is Paul. I was born on 9th March 1989, in the outskate of Mzuzu city in the village called Lwafwa of Traditional Authority Kabunduli. I did my primary school there and went to Nkhata-Bay Boys Secondary School in 2003. After completing my secondary school, I went and do Bachelors of Arts in Social Sciences (Honours) at Uganda Martyrs University in 2011.

I am a married man with two children, a girl and a boy. Currently I am working as a Chief’s Clerk stationed at Sub-Traditional Authority Chikwa (Kasungu North) starting from 4th April 2022. Before joining this work, I worked as a Secondary School teacher at Kasungu CCAP private School in 2013-2015; I worked as a Programs Officer in 2016 -2019 at Good Health organization and I also worked as HIV/AIDS Officer at Kasungu Municipal Council. I am also a member of National Youth Network on Climate Change (NYNCC).

Throughout my career Social Sciences, I have been passionate in environment and marginalized people in community especially the youth and women. In 2011 after graduating, I moved to Kasungu where my brother was working. Looking at the status of women and youth in development, I together with my brother Owen Shaba decided to organize young people and found a youth club by the name Kasungu Traveling Theatre in 2013. The aim was through theatre, we could easily put them together and mentor them into citizens who could be part of the community solutions for the problems the youth were facing. Again, through theatre, they were able to easily disseminate message to fellow youth and community stakeholders.
The name changed in 2017 when we thought that theatre only was not enough and we thought of diversifying means of reaching out to people. Today, the name of the organization, which is works in the whole district of Kasungu. The organization is now registered with National Council of Malawi (NYCOM) and it’s also a member of Kasungu Civil Society Network (KUCSNET).
    Mission statement
It is committed to transform the community through holistic approach by including marginalized like the youth and women in the meaningful participation in developmental activities at Community, District and National levels.
    Vision
strives to achieve meaningful participation of youth and women in Socio-economic development activities using a progressive gendered approach at community, district and National level

    Kasungu is rich in culture

Volunteers will enjoy the beautiful view of elephants and other wild animals in Kasungu National park and Nkhotakota game reserves. They will enjoy their time at Lifupa lodge in side Kasungu National Park.

They will enjoy nice traditional dances like Gulewamkulu, Chisamba, Chinamwali and more.

Coming to Kasungu will also help them see new places which most people have not discovered but have rich history taking us back to the early settlers (akafula). Some of these places are like Mwalawamalemba in STA Mdunga where they will see mysterious writings on a rock where no one knows when was written, who wrote and the meaning. We have also places where they were making metals from rocks like in the area of STA Chikwa and learn a history from a tribe which chased the akafula back then.

The traditional food like nsima will spice their lives their lives to the fullest.
Not only that but also, enjoy the nice view of Kasungu mountain which carries the history of the battles between the ngonis and chewas.

They will also have chances of going to Lake Malawi. Which is not far from Kasungu
