Description
We share the same travelling spirit that you have! In our twenties we left NZ for Chile, along with our 2 preschool kids looking to forge a life path a little less travelled. We found this farm and have never looked back! We are developing the farm of 200ha and are milking a few hundred Kiwi cows.
We now have 4 kids and still enjoying the adventure that life brings us . We are homeschooling the children and have a philosophy that learning is best done when doing and is not limited to the classroom!! During our time here we have learnt so much, and one of those things is that you must make life happen, not wait for others to make it for you. We love the outdoors and are passionate about outdoor education, something which we bring from our culture in NZ, hoping to develop here on our farm in Chile! We are a family of 6 from New Zealand living in the South of Chile, we are passionate travellers and understand exactly what your challenges, dreams and goals may be. The only way to learn about a new culture is to live it, and that is what we are doing every day. All staff are Chilean except for us, so Spanish and English are spoken daily. From an agricultural perspective we are unique since we are developing a NZ based farm system within latin america.

We are in the secondary stages of renovating an old colonial house which we have started using for the education project. Work will involve general labour in and around renovation and landscaping areas around the house.
We are also looking for teachers! If you consider yourself high energy and have something to teach children in the community please get in touch. At the moment we are running English classes but from mid July onwards we want to diversify and introduce other workshops. The ideal volunteers will be happy to get involved with both renovation and teaching!Langues

Autres infos...
We are located between 2 towns, 5 mins to Puerto Octay and 20 mins to Frutillar. There is a bus which is reliable and runs regularly. Frutillar is well known in the Lakes region as a beautiful quiet tourist town and only 20 mins from there is Puerto Varas. We are a good base to start your adventure of the South.
We welcome you to get in touch explaining your skills, as we are open to learning from you guys just as much as you are open to learning from us.Informations complémentaires

She was happy to get stuck in to any job, and even though Val only spent one week here we will remember her sweet nature and her pan de queso!
If you ever get the opportunity to work with Val, you will not be disappointed.
