    Description

This is a sustainable, organic, and socially responsible enterprise founded and managed by three Swiss professionals (Roberto, Benno, and Dieter) each with a close tie to Cambodia. On site, there are 3 passionate Cambodian team leaders and more than 20 fixed employees, in gender parity.

We are located in the Kampot Pepper Geografical Indication area (southern Cambodia), where the finest pepper in the world is grown. In fact, the Gardens boast a special microclimate, filled with quartz-rich soil, which combined together with centuries-old traditional crafts, synergic agriculture, and permaculture helps create the unique blend of aroma of the Kampot Pepper PGI.

We were established in 2014 on a total surface of 33 hectars, 7 of which dedicated to the cultivation of Kampot Pepper. The remaining land comprises a veggie gardens and is planted on an ongoing base with a variety of plants and trees, the ultimate goal being to recreate a forest like environment which shall provide the highest possible botanical diversity. This is a serene, safe and very enjoyablenatural space populated by animals, and by the infectious smiles of the local workers.

As a volunteer, you will be 100% immersed in the local life of the Gardens. You will eat and live with friendly and caring Cambodians; you will explore their language, their food, and their habits. You can help out in the kitchen if you like, to learn how to prepare rural Khmer food!

We would like someone with fresh and new ideas to improve the Gardens environment. If you are a well-disposed, smiling, and nature-loving person, you are welcome in this big family.
At the moment, we are looking for volunteers who can help us with one of the following projects:

    1) Art & Creative Projects: someone who could improve both our inside and exterior. For example, someone who can create an entrance sign, decorate the walls of the Gardens, create sustainable, inspiring, beautiful decoration pieces, etc.

    2) Marketing, Content, Social Media, Graphic Design: someone who could create marketing materials and write appealing content to promote our pepper and our project ideals

    3) Agronomists: someone who can give us new ideas about growing pepper or other plants organically. Someone who is willing, for an extended period, to carry out research experiments in the fields.

    4) Gastronomists: someone who can create or sponsor pepper recipes (tea with pepper leaves, pickled pepper, etc.)

We would expect volunteers to help approximately 25-30 hours a week (5 days a week). We offer a private room with a shared bathroom, three meals a day, and if you wish, also some fresh mango/coconut/jack fruit from the Gardens.
