Description
Aloha! My partner and I are starting a permaculture eco community. We just recently bought raw jungle and have been slowly building up our off grid homestead from ground zero. This is a perfect opportunity for people who are looking to learn and don’t mind simple living.
Our vision is to provide a space for people to learn about permaculture, feel inspired to co- create projects and experience personal growth.
We are both pretty chill people who love to adventure and hang by the ocean. We love meeting new people and spreading the good vibes. We especially love to travel internationally when we can!
I have done two yoga teacher trainings and studied holistic nutrition. My partner is a reiki master that likes to surf and go spear fishing. We are both more than happy to share our skills and knowledge with you.
I have my permaculture design certificate and would love to share my knowledge in the form of a permaculture internship. We are looking for people who feel inspired and passionate to learn about permaculture in a hands on setting. In this course people would get to create and manage their own projects.
Let’s Co -create a beautiful landscape together!
UPDATE: we are specifically currently looking for core community members right now to live here more long term with the qualities of being self-sufficient, clean, and reliable with savings or means to derive income on the island.
It is best to have a car or be willing to buy/rent one on the island. We live in a remote area and you may have trouble getting around otherwise. We can take you into town for groceries and laundry once a week.
**** we are currently looking for someone with construction experience as a potentially paid position on the property. We are currently building a house.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
You can learn permaculture techniques depending on what we are doing at the time: possibly natural building, polyculture garden design, rainwater harvesting system, mushroom cultivation, Korean natural farming, food forest implementation and design, building a chicken coop...etc. Also, if you want to do art or murals on the property, teach yoga etc that is welcomed.
If you have a specific interest I can try to facilitate that learning experience.
People will also learn what it takes to live the off grid lifestyle.
We would like to make time for taking you on adventures around the big island to our favorite spots!L’hôte offre un salaire correspondant au salaire minimum

Overall it’s a very simple off grid jungle lifestyle. All our water is harvested from the rain. We are in the process of putting up our solar.
We have a compost toilet and a shower that works sometimes.
Our kitchen area is a communal outdoor space situated under a canopy with a two burner stove and a propane fridge. The community space is a 10 by 20 tent on a deck with some couches to chill on.
Living spaces for workawayers are platforms in the jungle with a tarp over it and a tent.
We are 30 mins from the beach.
We don’t have wifi, but you should get service here...but occasionally people don’t .
We run the generator sometimes and you can charge your phone then. If you want to be able to charge your cell phone/computer whenever you want than it would be appreciated to get us some gasoline occasionally depending on usage. It is also recommended to bring a portable battery pack for your phone.
We also live on the rainy side of the island so brings a poncho/ rain coat. Maybe rain boots if you want. It can get muddy on the property when it rains.
We are always trying to build and improve our facilities.Autres infos...
Come and let’s Co-create!
If you arrive in kona air port you will need to take a few hour bus to Hilo and we can pick you up from there. The other option is to fly straight into Hilo. We live about a half an hour from the air port.Informations complémentaires
