    Description

    Aloha!

My name is Grace, and I live on a 3-acre off-grid homestead in a tiny eco-village with two friends, their two dogs, two cats, and my cat, Chaga. Just a few years ago, my parcel was raw jungle, but I’ve since transformed it into a space with all the basic amenities, a small dual-purpose cabin, and around 10 fruit trees, along with other food-growing efforts.

Our vision is to create a space where people can learn about permaculture, feel inspired to co-create projects, and experience personal growth. This is a unique opportunity for those interested in permaculture and simple living.

**A little about me: I love meeting new people, doing yoga, creating art, making music, and going on adventures. I’m currently studying to be a physical therapist, which keeps me pretty busy with studying. I’ve completed two yoga teacher trainings, studied holistic nutrition, and hold a permaculture design certificate. I’d love to share what I’ve learned about permaculture and work on creative projects together, like painting or improving the house.

Let’s co-create a beautiful landscape and learn together!

**Note:** A car is essential for staying here due to the remote location, and I’m not offering any paid positions at this time—sorry!

You can learn permaculture techniques depending on what we are doing at the time: possibly polyculture design, planting tropical foods. Also, if you want to do art or murals on the property, that is welcomed.

If you have a specific interest, I can try to facilitate that learning experience.

People will also learn how to live off grid.

It would be nice to show you some of my favorite spots around the island when time allows.

  • Aide

    Aide

The help will generally be mulching trees, creating beds for food, DIY home projects to continue to fix up the house. Weeding and general maintenance of the property.

You are welcome to create and design your own projects. Also, artists welcome!!! I love to have more murals on the property.

    Hébergement

I have a small dual-purpose cabin that has a bed, a light and a place to charge electronics for someone who is work trading to say in.

The main house is just next door where there is a kitchen with a stove, and seating area. There is a room in the fridge to store some things to cook.

I am happy to share food a few times a week for dinner and provide basic breakfast items such as oatmeal.

Overall, it is a simple off grid set up that is powered by solar, and I have a rain catchment. I have an outdoor shower and compost toilet.

I live in a rural area of Hawaii 30 mins from the beach.

We don't have wifi, but you should get good cell reception.

If you arrive in kona air port you will need to take a few hour bus to Hilo and we can pick you up from there. The other option is to fly straight into Hilo. We live about a half an hour from the air port.
