  Description

  Hi !
  We are a small family of 3 humans and 2 cats living on top of a peaceful mountain in the beautiful region of Alsace, France.
  I (Flor) teach Yoga and my partner Ben is a massage therapist (mostly Thaï massage). Solun, our son, is 7 months old.
  Our property is completely isolated in nature. We have wonderful sunrises, and in the winter you can expect some snow. Not far from our home you can find medieval castles to explore, and some really cute traditional Alsatian villages. We are 1 hour away from Strasbourg which is a very vibrant city with lots to do, and 35 minutes away from Colmar.
  In the summer, we host yoga and meditation retreats, as well as dance therapy or sometimes music trainings.

  Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre

  We are native French speakers, so if that is something you'd like to learn, we can practice conversation together.
  
  Some nights, we like to cook together and share a big family meal, we will happily share and exchange recipes from our cookbook and yours. We are also in the wine region so we can connect you with people to learn about wine making, or wine tasting ;-)
  
  On the DIY project, you will be included in the learning of techniques with a traditional touch (like eco-insulation, whitewash lime paint...) and you will be welcome to bring your ideas and own knowledge.
  
  You will be welcome to join Flor's Yoga classes in the village twice a week (in French) and practice Yoga and meditation together.

  Aide

  We are not asking for help in our wellness retreat business but help with the house, our baby, the garden, and a renovation project in a part of our house : we are currently renovating a part it to turn it into our yoga practice space.
  
  Depending on the length of your stay and where we're at in the renos, we will do : carpentry, insulation, masonry, painting, most of it with traditional materials and techniques. Ben will work on the construction everyday and I (Flor) will take care of Solun, our 7 month old son.
  
  So we are looking for a couple with 2 handy persons, one will mostly help with the renos and the garden and the other will mostly help with cooking, cleaning, and taking care of Solun.
  
  If you have particular skills in the renovation department, it will be appreciated ! If you don't, we will share our knowledge happily. The most important is to be handy, practical-thinking, and not afraid of living in nature.

  Hébergement

  You will have your own self-contained studio with separate entrance.
  It has beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the sunrise.
  
  It is a cozy 20sqm room with a shower and compost toilet, a sink, a small fridge, utensils to cook, shelves to store your clothes.
  There are 2 single beds that can be put together, as well as a small sofa.
  We provide bedding, pillows, linen, towels, etc.
  
  We will provide breakfast ingredients to have in the studio on your own time.
  You will be welcome to join us for lunch everyday, it is the most important meal for us.
  For dinner we like to have our space most nights after Solun has gone to bed, and Flor goes to the village to give Yoga classes, but we will share at least one dinner a week all together.
  
  On the other nights we will provide ingredients to cook your dinner as you please. We will make sure to provide food you like, but please note we prefer no meat consumption in our home. We also eat fish very rarely.

  Autres infos...

  In your time off, you can go hiking around the house, we can also suggest hikes that are a little bit further. It would be easier, if you want to get around, to have your own car.
  
  We are situated on top of a hill, there is a 2km dirt road so best to be comfortable driving your car up. You can also hike up, it is about 40minutes hike from the bus stop. From the bus stop you can basically go to all nearby cities (Strasbourg, Colmar, Mulhouse...) : the bus brings you to the nearest train station which is Sélestat.
  
  In the winter, it is also possible to go skiing, from 30minutes to 1hour drive there are good options.
  
  We'd prefer if you don't bring pets : our two cats can be a little shy, and there are farm animals around.
