Kamille was with us for 4 weeks in September 2024. She looked after the horses and chickens, took the dogs for a walk and also did household chores. The whole family really enjoyed their time with Kamille. She is funny, friendly, helpful and has reliably completed all of her tasks. She also played a lot with the children.

My stay with the family was a wonderful experience. I felt welcomed from the very beginning, and it felt natural to be a part of their everyday life. The family’s home is filled with lovely animals and surrounded by beautiful nature, which I loved exploring on my long walks.
All in all, a delightful experience that I would definitely recommend. Finally, I’d like to thank the family again for my time with them. I hope we will see each other again in the future.

Ingrid was with us in May/June 2024 and was definitely one of our best workawayers! Reliable, thoughtful, friendly and funny! She did her daily tasks with us brilliantly. And our animals loved Ingrid!

This was my first workaway experience and I had no idea what to expect, but needless to say I was blown away! I stayed with them for 3 months and have loved every single minute of it!!

… read more so helpful and warm when it comes to showing me more of Hamburg and feeling a part of the family! Their children are also so wonderful, and you will have a great time playing table tennis with Vicco Jordi, or watching some scary movies with Sienna 🫶
As far as the work goes, it’s fairly easy and not at all time consuming. A typical day starts at around 9am with the chickens and horses, and wraps up around 1pm after a beautiful walk through the forest with their adorable dogs! The forest has many different trails, and I highly recommend some strolls by yourself to really admire it all! On your off days, I also recommend heading into the city and exploring :) It’s quite beautiful, and there are so many activities to do and sights to see! The station is only a 10 minute bike ride away, and they have one for you to use! Sandra also works with you in terms of your schedule, and is very encouraging when it comes to traveling to other places nearby just to make the most of your time here!!
If you are thinking about coming here - just do it!! I I would highly recommend this stay to anyone, and I feel so lucky to have met this family!

I stayed with this wonderful family for 3 months and it was one of the best experiences of my life! When I arrived, Sandra showed me around the house and property and I was immediately in awe of the beauty. Their home is right next to the forest, so if you love nature then this is the place for you! Taking care of the animals was a fun experience
… read more for me. I adore animals and have always been around them my entire life. So taking care of the animals did not feel like work to me, I genuinely enjoyed the time I got to spend with them. I was also not perfect and had made a mistake or two (or 10) but Sandra and Seb were always so patient and gracious with me.
They are both incredibly welcoming and kind. They have a way of making you feel like family and feeling comfortable from the beginning. We shared many days and nights laughing and talking about our lives over wine and yummy food. They both have many interesting stories that will fascinate you. Sienna, Jordi, and Vicco are the sweetest kids. During my time there we loved to swim, play soccer, table tennis, draw, read, and watch lots of good movies. There was never a dull moment with them and I already miss them so much.
The train station is not far away and can take you right into Hamburg. I loved to adventure out into the city and go explore. I also was able to explore other parts of Germany. Sandra is amazing and worked things out with me on the schedule so I was able to travel.
Overall, I am so thankful that this was my first experience and that I found this wonderful family.

Thank you for everything you have done for me and thank you for this experience! I love you all so much and I will be back again to visit!

I spent 4 months with this family, and it probably was the greatest experience of my life. Seb and Sandra are certainly ones of the best hosts you could find on Workaway, and I’m not even exaggerating 😂

… read more 😊 Everyone there will take care of you and will make you feel comfortable.
The place and the accommodation are extremely spacious, modern, clean, and pleasant. The scenery and the surroundings are the same, very beautiful and relaxing to look at or to talk a walk in.
My days mainly consisted as:
- Taking care of the chickens
- Feeding the horses and cleaning their area
- Doing some indoor tasks like vacuuming or taking out the garbage
- Walking the dogs (very cool to do, the forest near by is HUGEEE and there you can get the chance to spot some deer running around :o )
- + some additional tasks like raking a specific area on Tuesday etc…
So the schedule was clear and I liked it this way. This kept me busy for the morning, then I was free to do whatever makes me happy. On the afternoon, I had some driving to do, but everything is very close by, so it took not long at all.
Apart from that, the family is truly warm and welcoming.
Seb and Sandra are amazing, they are very caring and extremely generous, and I’m so thankful for that. Seb shared his passions and knowledge to me with great pleasure, while Sandra would made me burst out laughing with her great sense of humor.
I also really loved the presence of Sienna, we spent so many hours talking about our lives, listening to music or watching some films or crazy series :D . She is a bright and clever person with whom you can discuss anything.
And I spent many very precious moments with the boys, by playing Tennis, Football, jumping on the trampoline, swimming in the pool or the lake from the Tennis Club, watching movies, playing Bowling or Minigolf… Well we did so much activities that I can’t list them all :p Both are lovely, smart, and really cool. I’m glad that we got so well along, and I think of them as my family, as well as Sandra, Seb and Sienna.
I forgot to mention that I ate very very well, the food was delicious and diverse + funnily enough, Sandra is an excellent baker while Seb is an excellent cooker !
Besides, I didn’t visit much because I really really loved staying at their place, but you can easily take the train to visit Hamburg which is a great city to explore or to make some shopping. You can also take the car if it is available to go wherever you want, which is nice.
Soo I think I’ve basically said the most important. I’m again deeply thankful for these few months spent together. As already said, I would have never expected to get so close from this family, it was such an ununforgettable experience and yeah I feel very very lucky. I hope we keep contact in the future and I promise to come back visit you guys !
